When writing blog posts do you..
Use your CMS to write up the post or do you use notepad or some other offline text editor to compose a draft first?
I am not talking about some two sentence 'she has great tits and wet pussy' post - a review or real actual article. I tend to hash out a draft in word and drop in [img/video of whatever here] before going to wordpress. |

Would seem smart to keep 100% draft and final copies offline before posting in case of some unforseeable issue with host, registrar or whatever. Or download full backups at the very least to your own hardware at home to keep safe.

Use Windows Live Writer.
It will spell check, do many photo editor functions, do anything word does, and it is free! Does keywords, tags, titles, date... I could go on forever. |
Google Docs. Instantly saves my work as I write. Accessible from any computer anywhere. Permanent backup. Not fancy, but it works for me.

I am completely mainstream now but FWIW, I usually write it out in .doc first. I use .doc because I have spellchecker turned out. Although typing it out in notepad just feels more convenient and 'spontaneous', I've gotten used to typing it out in MS Word.
My second step is to review it based on parameters set out by copyblogger.com - ie., does it grab eyeballs? Is it entertaining enough? Does it complement the links inside the post? Does it help push my site's brand? Is it consistent with my site's brand? Then I copy and paste to copyscape to make sure it doesn't have any duplicate content issues. I then run it through a grammar checker. Copy and paste into .txt. Add link html tags. Add a pic (selected carefully to be eyeball grabbing and different from competitors). Tag it based on my keyword theme list (filtered by search volume and competition level) Paste to CMS. Might seem like a time-intensive process but I got used to it after doing it enough times. |

I never thought about writing blog post any other way than directly in wordpress. I will think on this some but for now I will still write them directly.

#1.develop a system that works for you, then automate it :2 cents:
#2.become friends with a programmer |
I write directly in wordpress and I have in my FF the spellchecker.
