YNOT Awards info! Be a juror...

YNOT AWARDS WILL RETURN TO CLUB SASAZU AND THE EUROPEAN SUMMIT IN SEPTEMBER

HOUSTON, TX (July 24, 2012) -- YNOT Group has officially announced that the second annual YNOT Awards will return to Club SaSaZu in Prague on the evening of September 25th. The show is part of an impressive lineup of high profile events at this year?s European Summit conference, and the mission of the YNOT Awards is to provide the adult industry with an impartial means to recognize excellence in the adult Internet business.

?If you?re planning to attend the European Summit this September, mark your calendars right now because the YNOT Awards is going to be an industry-only event you won?t want to miss,? explains Connor Young, President of YNOT Group LLC. ?Club SaSaZu is the most impressive venue in Prague, this place is just incredible. With more than a thousand individuals expected to attend the Prague show, and no conflicting events during the Awards, we?re planning on a fantastic and well-attended event.?

General admission will be free for all attendees of the European Summit. Premium tables are also available, but are selling out fast.

?Any company who?s interested in buying a premium table should contact me immediately,? says Jay Kopita, VP of Sales & Marketing at YNOT Group. ?Tables are being sold on a first-come first-served basis, and include a full buffet dinner and unlimited drinks for every seat throughout the show. Premium tables are a great way to reward your company?s staff, or entertain important clients, and these will sell out.?

Like last year, the YNOT Awards show itself will run for approximately two hours and will be followed by live entertainment and dancing.

?We make sure to keep the actual Awards show short and sweet, with a strictly limited number of categories and nominations to ensure the YNOT Awards is about recognizing true excellence, not nominating everyone in the industry,? adds Kopita.

According to Young, the process for selecting industry Jurors is now underway, with industry wide voting starting next month.

?Right now we?re in the process of accepting applications for Juror positions, and once that process is complete the Jurors will start nominating companies in each of our twenty-five award categories,? explains Young. ?Once we have our nominees in mid-August, we?ll open up the voting process to the entire industry. Winners will be announced at the event only, not in advance, and will be chosen exclusively through the industry voting process.?

YNOT Awards sponsors already on board for Prague include Webbilling, SexGoesMobile.com, Mojo Host, Dating Factory, RIV Cash and Fleshlight.

To apply for a YNOT Awards Juror position, or to learn more about the YNOT Awards voting and nominations process, please visit www.ynotawards.com.

Companies who are interested in sponsoring the YNOT Awards show or reserving a premium table should contact Jay Kopita for more information. He can be reached at [email protected] or by phone at 832-408-7203.

Yeah categories are picked by Jurors and at this point we're still accepting Juror applications.

Here's a breakdown of the process, including dates:

As soon as the categories are chosen, companies can start submitting for Juror consideration.

Hey Jay, I have an idea.

Letting people vote would just turn it into a popularity contest. Why not instead cast 3 judges, and then list the criteria that each judge will base their decisions on? For example :

- Quality of workmanship (Nice design, ease of use, etc)
- Quality of content.
- Quality of customer support

With the idea being that the higher score lends to the overall improvement of the adult industry in general, higher sales for affiliates, etc?

Making the criteria public and the scores of each, by each judge, public after the show will demonstrate transparency and silence the people who will scream "fixed", and invite discussion to help other site owners to improve their own work at the same time, giving a little boost to the industry as a whole.

Just my 2 cents..

Well the AVN Awards uses the "judges" approach, although different than what you suggest in they use more judges with less transparency. With the YNOT Awards, we wanted to give the industry a chance to make the decision about who to recognize. We wanted it to be CLEAR that the industry picks the winners, not us, and not judges that we personally appointed to make the decisions.

Yes this does mean as you suggest that popularity is a big factor, but 1) there is no perfect system, 2) popularity does indicate success IMHO, and 3) there's no reason why an up and coming company couldn't use a tenacious campaign for a YNOT Award as a means to make a case for itself.

We think this event is an excellent opportunity for companies to draw attention to their best accomplishments.

And you know, even with all the transparency that you mentioned, there would STILL be cries that the results were fixed.

LAJ 07-30-2012 11:25 AM

Gotta say I agree with Connor, Mark. The more people who vote, the more accurate the results and the winner. And popularity does and should factor in. Because that would not only suggest that company is known and respected by their peers but that they also have a product that people like and it has been marketed properly.

And let's face it... if someone is more popular than you, that should serve just as motivation and inspiration. You know who you're targeting, and if you beat them out then you know you did something well.
