Actually they have extended it a few times today.

I tried to login about 12 hrs ago and it said a couple hours checked back a few hours later and it was then 3 hrs, and now about 8 hrs later it is now over 2 hrs.

It is normally good to give some indication of when something will be back, but when you keep resetting the clock, you are better off just having a fixed "back soon" message, otherwise people just get nervous.
