Religion is not make believe, religion exists. The word religion is a description of something, it is by definition "a collection of spiritual beliefs". Thus, if I right now decided that carpet is god he loves me, then religion would be real. The "god" of my religion might be make believe, but religion is real.

Same with countries. A country is simply a descriptor, a word, a term to describe something. A country is simply a nation with a governing body. Countries are real. The bullshit delusions you have about some aspect of a countries or countries as a whole might not be real, but that doesn't make "countries" make believe.
