If google penalises for adverts on sites ..

.. Is URL masking a good idea or not?

sandman! 08-08-2012 07:21 PM

google will figure that out :2 cents::2 cents:

MrCain 08-08-2012 07:34 PM

Try it.

Google frowns on sites that have adverts "above the fold". See Youtube.com for an example of the proper way to host ads on your high-traffic site.

Example: After following a link from one of my own sites, I had to sit through 11 seconds of a "Google Adwords For Video" advert before I was allowed to wath this:

Watch it now, for soon it will be gone!

When they say they penalize for this or that or this other thing, they are talking about BIG cases of such things.

Google will penalize your site for ads if you have like one hundred ads in your page.

Most of google penalization practices dont apply to regular webmasters, they are for big spammers or real stupid people.

Most of people that go through boards all over the internet crying about google penalizing them, saying they dindn't do anything is just lies.

They are big spammers, big scammers, big policies abusers and so on.

So lets cut the paranoia please and use your time in more productive tasks.

Does not matter. Not. One. Little. Bit.

People who create sites specifically for Google - and people who actually give a shit about SEO - are the reason why 90% of you lame-assed idiots cry that you don't make a fucking cent anymore.

Do not give a fuck about Google. You're not competing with FaceBook and The Huffington Post. Make a site that people want to visit and come back to.

You can create something honest - something that you enjoy working on - or you can be a fool and spend all your time chasing Google's ever-changing rules - rule that Google itself would never, ever follow.

Make an honest site that people like to visit - or go all blackhat and change domains and servers every other week.

Google is about as useful and relevant as MySpace is.

You try putting 720p animated flash ads for shit no-one cares about above the fold on your site. Make it so that when your visitors click a link, they are forced to watch a (mostly irrelevant) ad before they see any real content. A porn tube? No...

THAT is Google. THAT is Youtube. You try to pull the same shit Google does and see how well it works out for you. Funny, you is. Not.

Fuck Google. Nice traffic. So what? More work than its worth.

I added some ads in the footer of one of my blogs a week ago and my google rankings went way down. I removed them and bingo...back up. I don't know why footer ads were an issue but they were.

In order for people to come back to your site they need to find it to begin with.

On the visible side of the screen, without having to scroll down.

What about the people that cry about it when their results get mixed in with the real index instead of the pre-placement that the spiders give new sites, thinking that they are being penalized and not realizing that that's how it works?.. :Oh crap

They just mean some crap like a top banner that is like 600px+ height with more sidebar ads showing before H1 or other similar things that you shouldn't do.

Small top ads and/or floating top bars are fine :thumbsup

facialfreak 08-09-2012 09:31 AM

Google does NOT penalize for ads above the fold ....

Search for "Google Adsense Heat Map"

THere is so much BAD SEO info out there it kinda makes me laugh.
