Still one of the greatest concerts of all time:

That's from his 1968 "comeback" show on NBC.
I remember watching it as a kid (everybody seemed to be watching it) I was just 7 years old.

But I have re-watched it a few times on video throughout the years since.

Probably the last great Elvis performances ever. He was definitely showing everyone he was still the "king" at that point.

Wouldn't be long though before he was taking tons of pills a few years later and bloated and sleep walking through shows here in Vegas.

But man...on Dec. 3rd 1968 he pulled it together and showed why he was so damn good in the first place.
