Cops Strip Search Mom, "Forcibly" Pull Tampon Out of Her for Maybe Rolling Through Stop Sign

Getting pulled over for rolling through a stop sign is whack. But getting pulled over, having a gun pointed in your face, and then being strip searched on the side of the road in front of your two children for rolling through a stop sign is, well, really whack and probably an excessive use of force.

At least. that's what a new lawsuit in the Sunshine State is claiming.

Last July, Leila Tarantino claims that she was pulled over by an officer with the Citrus County Sheriff's Department. In the suit, Tarantino says she came to a full stop and should have never been pulled over in the first place.

A passing cop pulled a u-turn, flashed the lights, and rolled up behind her. Tarantino claims that the cop immediately drew his weapon, pulled her from the car, and refused to explain why he pulled her over. Tarantino's two young children watched all of this unfold from inside her car.

The cop then placed Tarantino in the back of the squad car, where she allegedly sat for two hours. When backup arrived, Tarantino was strip searched on the side of the road, where passing motorists could see everything.

Then, in a gruesome twist, a female officer "forcibly removed" a tampon from Tarantino. Presumably, the cops were looking for drugs, but the lawsuit notes that a drug-sniffing dog was never called in, and cops never found any contraband or anything illegal.

The lawsuit does not name the cops involved but notes that there were five male officers and one female officer.

Everybody is a damn liar these days, you don't know who to believe.

Shocking. The police say they did nothing wrong. And here I was expecting a full admission of guilt.

That looks like a mug shot. I can't imagine anyone has a "good" or "trustworthy" mug shot.

It's a lawsuit, that's the source, who knows what the real story is though. It's hard to know what to believe with the US police after some of what we've seen, and people make stuff up too. If they were to strip search a woman and pull her tampon out, they would be more likely to do it to a woman like this....I've got no idea who to believe, but it's an interesting story :thumbsup

Of course the cops are going to deny everything when they get sued. When was the last time the cops admitted they did something wrong? When they raided the wrong home and shot the owner, they blamed the victim. When they beat a homeless man to death, they denied everything. When a video of the murder turned up, they put the murderers on paid leave.

When the first sentence is "Getting pulled over for rolling through a stop sign is whack" the rest of the news source is suspect.

According to this site she has been arrested multiple times for everything from DUI to domestic battery to violation of probation.

I for one would be shocked to hear that a habitual criminal might lie and file a frivolous lawsuit.

C'mon man. Are we going to judge the truth of what someone is saying by how they look now?

I have no idea what happened there and there's not enough info in the article (or the 21 other articles on G News) to determine what happened.

Great article. Perfectly believable that a woman rolled through a stop sign and police surrounded her, pointing guns at her and strip searched her as a result. Obviously nothing else was going on. No insane people here, thats for sure.

The cops pulled her over after she failed to stop at a STOP sign. I just want everybody to know that this isn?t some sweet innocent mommy randomly victimized by out of control policemen.

Leila Tarantino has a long track record of breaking the law. She?s been arrested multiple times for DUI, domestic battery, driving with a suspended licence, violating her probation. She is a habitual offender, which the cops would have immediately found out when they ran her name. She has no right to play the mother card because she?s clearly an awful mother in the first place. Put this drunk on blast for trying to screw the taxpayers of Citrus County.

Citrus County cops aren't know for being zealous but for many there is a conspiracy under every rock.

Drug addict? Surely on benefits? Rapist? Clearly an alcoholic...

Anyways, the cops never cease to amaze with their abuses and stupidity.
