Fucking Well Done London 2012

Ok if you wondered what the fuck Batman and Robin were doing jumping out of an exploding yellow three wheel vehicle, I can sympathise, you really do have to be British and of a certain age to get that. I think these games have been the dogs bollocks. A few months ago some left wing dick head swam out into the middle of the "Boat Race" and there were cries then about what it mean't for Olympic security. I have to say the organisation of these games has been amazing. NOT ONE arrest reported anywhere for anything, and I can't even recall seeing a false start in any athletics race. Flawless.

I enjoyed watching the games, however that closing ceremony was cringe worthy - one direction - WHAT IN THE FUCK?? The audio was absolutely fucked too.

There were false starts, saw two the other day - female and a male - can't remember the events though.

Still a great Olympics and big thumbs up to London on a job well done - next time lose the closing ceremony as it was absolute shit.

Yeah too much agree, Lennon and Mercury are dead, they can't perform so don't pretend they can. Finishing with "The Who" was bad and ironic...."Who ?" didn't really chime with inspiring a generation. I'm a bit tired of dragging up pensioners to represent British music in 2012 !!

Spice Girls doing this would have been better as a finale:

It was a great Olympics. Still a bit irrated at NBC's coverage here in the US. Nothing more annoying then hearing the results at 3pm then having to wait until 7 to see it.

There was one arrest inside the track, a spectator threw a bottle at the 100m final. There was a false start for men's swimming in a heat (I think) and one woman from the US when the sound warnings were screwed up. Otherwise, it was great and spent a lot of time watching the games.

Well done London!

yah great organisation for sure,I enjoyed in the Mans basketball final.Great win for Usa

FreeHugeMovies 08-12-2012 11:54 PM

I watched two fuck ups in swimming where the start call was messed up.

You also fucked North and South Korea LOL

Overall I thought they did a good job. My only complaint was with NBC. At times their commentary was spot on, but other times it was annoying and they didn't know when to just be quiet and let the moment soak in. Other than that I really enjoyed it. I though the closing ceremony was pretty good. They had a wide range of people, but couldn't they have gotten the good Gallagher brother? Liam sucks, Noel is where it is at.

Just read how it will be massive financial loss for Uk/London due 30% less tourists in London then on usual times.

TheDA 08-13-2012 01:57 AM

Overall I didn't think it was too bad but there were plenty of fuck ups. Hardly flawless.

Captain Kawaii 08-13-2012 02:04 AM

London 2012 was overall a fantastic event. My only real lament is having NBC for 3 more fucking Olympics. YAK, YAK, YAK...

I hope all who went had a great time!

I bet the hookers in Rio are scheduling their pussy tightening surgeries...Thats going to be one hell of a two weeks. Hope to go!

papill0n 08-13-2012 02:04 AM

What amazes me is how countries still want to host the games. They spend a fortune preparing for them and putting them on and they all say they will make it back in the long run because they can use the new facilities to host other events and the games will spark tourism, but it never seems to work out that way as it seems many of the places never make the money back. I was reading that with the Athens games many of the facilities they built have still never been used again and the 15 billion they spent putting the games was never earned back.

Lennon with Imagine was perfect. Mercury wasn't. Elton John, McCartney, Clapton or Floyd would of been better. He tried to bring in iconic British music and failed. Who were those people banging on dustbins, or the female singer.

Eric Idle was perfect, the Batman and Robin was only for the Brits.

The opening ceremony was perfect, closing left a bit to be desired. Over all games, huge success. Glad I don't have to pay for it.

Legacy is the cost.

Agreed on all points. I'll add in that TSN, Canada's tv coverage feed, did much the same yap-yapping as NBC. Some color commentary is great, but endlessly yammering on and on and restating the same things over and over ad nauseum is just too much for most viewers. It's like they decided to simply cater to all those with ADD out there who only tune in for a few minutes here or there, so they keep on talking.

To GB, absolutely well done. That was a hell of a great games, as I knew they would be. The host country also kicked royal ass on the podium, so double well done.:thumbsup:thumbsup

A lot of sports events is organized with excuse "oh a lot of people around will hear for us,it's good for tourism".Why the fuck i would want to go to some place because they organized some sport event for few days?I think best way for marketing tourism is good work, anything else is more less waste of money. After all if i decide to go somewhere i always read reviews of people who experienced what i showed interest to see it.

I made a post before the Olympics started saying I couldn't give a shit about who won what etc, but I gotta admit I did end up enjoying some of the athletics races, and cheered on the winners. The British winners did a great job, and probably like most of the world I cheered on team Jamaica with Bolt and Blake. It's hard to not want those guys to win shit!

Overall a great Olympics, and i'll happily eat some humble pie and admit I did end up enjoying it.

Over to you Rio !!

I have to agree, the closing made no sense. HOWEVER in general I don't get most British humor!
