Is a 32 Inch monitor for a computer too much ?

What do you all think ... i am really thinking about upgrading to this

Zoxxa 08-16-2012 10:13 AM

Thats pretty big, I have the 27" iMac though and love it. I couldn't imagine going much bigger though.

shake 08-16-2012 10:15 AM

I think it depends on a few things like the screen rez you plan on using, distance from the screen and what you plan on using it for.

Personally I have 2 x 21.5" monitors at eye level and a 32" LCD above them which works well for me.

Spunky 08-16-2012 10:16 AM

Would be cool if you're a gamer,a little big for me personally

London Banker 08-16-2012 10:24 AM

i have a 30" dell and it's fantastic, refuse to work now on anything smaller

however, i havent heard of any 32" monitors. what make is it?

candyflip 08-16-2012 10:26 AM

A 32'' TV used as a monitor is not the same as using a 30'' monitor from the likes of Dell or Apple.

My 30'' Dells can display 2k, where a 32'' TV maxes out at 1080p.

Lace 08-16-2012 10:32 AM

I use my 55" LED sometimes. :Graucho

topsiteking 08-16-2012 10:37 AM

Too big for me personally.
But,I guess whatever your into.

Scott McD 08-16-2012 10:39 AM

I still use a 22" screen. Since I always sit quite close it's big enough for me...

corvette 08-16-2012 10:48 AM

you will love it

Chosen 08-16-2012 10:51 AM

It depends on a few factors...

Choopa Phil 08-16-2012 10:52 AM

2x 27"'s here, i wish i had 32's

2MuchMark 08-16-2012 11:04 AM

It depends on the Resolution.

The iMac 27" is great because the resolution is so high (2560 x 1440). If you are planning to use a 32" TV as a monitor you may not like the results as its max resolution is only 1920 x 1080. If this is the case you may like it for previewing video but the GUI may not look as nice as you hope.

I use my 42 inch tv in my living room as my monitor on my living room pc works pretty good with the HDMI setup ... was thinking maybe 32 inch maybe a bit much for eye level on my desk

MaDalton 08-16-2012 03:01 PM

depends on your eyes i guess

I found photo editting on my 22" monitor difficult (didn't like the precision) - went back to using a 17".

But the 22" is good for watchin' vids/movies on and viewing pics.

biskoppen 08-16-2012 03:27 PM

I'm using a 30" (DELL) as main and a 20" on the side

bigluv 08-16-2012 03:40 PM

Markham chiseled his galleries into stone tablets so I don't think we need such big luxurious displays..

Mr Pheer 08-16-2012 05:02 PM

32" is nice actually. I had a 32" for my Mac, but now I use a 40". It's much nicer for video editing.

ColBigBalls 08-16-2012 05:05 PM

56" here. It's what TV's were made for.

waltgator 08-16-2012 05:35 PM

hell yeah! do it!

AllAboutCams 08-16-2012 07:12 PM

i have 2x24 dell and that is perfect for me i dont think i would want any bigger

bronco67 08-16-2012 08:06 PM

I have a 32 inch Sharp Aquos LED TV, wall mounted. I do lots of graphic and animation work in linear color space, and it works fine for me.

Just make sure its at least 3 feet away from your eyeholes.

agentspits 08-17-2012 12:15 AM

I've had my computer hooked up to my tv for a while now, don't think I'll ever go back to a regular monitor. It's great for many reasons.

I have my tv on a dresser in the room, and I have a computer chair to give me some distance, and use wireless keyboard and mouse on a food tray, and it works out perfect.

k0nr4d 08-17-2012 01:25 AM

2x27" here, it's "just right"

bbobby86 08-17-2012 03:07 AM

for me it is too much... up to 24 is enough...

Zeiss 08-17-2012 03:14 AM

15' laptops here. 32'!? 56'!? You are insane! :D

Christian_PA 08-17-2012 03:23 AM

HAAAAAAAAAA awesome, I found it harder to edit when it was a huge monitor though, well it was on a projector screen. I use two 27 inch now but a little bigger could be better. Where is thats what she said lines?

mineistaken 08-17-2012 08:34 AM

of course its too much, I have 21 and I would not upgrade to anything bigger even if somebody gave it to me for free. 32 is not too much, its stupid.

seeandsee 08-17-2012 09:39 AM

not sure for what will you need such huge screen?

Black All Through 08-17-2012 09:41 AM

3x24 - I can't see going any bigger
