7 Scandals That Reveal the Real Mitt Romney

"Some great reporting by journalists reveals that the man behind the smile isn?t just a political flip-flopper who can't be trusted, but a self-serving man who is often tone-deaf to his impact on others and whose internal compass seems to spin wildly."

Fuck Mitt RobMe.

Anyone who makes that much money didn't do it by being a magnanimous saintly type. People like him are clinical sociopaths.

Tom_PM 08-16-2012 01:04 PM

A friend of mine told me today that their mother, who always votes Republican as a matter of course, messaged them. Here was how their conversation went.

Mom - "I like that Ryan Paul guy that Romney picked for his VP."

Friend - "You mean Paul Ryan?"

Mom - "Yeah, him."

Friend and I agreed that it sort of sums it up.

"Mitt Romney’s current media handlers would like you to think he’s a mild-mannered guy who has become increasingly conservative over the years—especially since he was pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro-tax increases, pro-gay and fairly liberal as Massachusetts governor before he ran for president in 2008 and started pandering to right-wingers."

Quite an evolution in 4 years. Or something....

MaDalton 08-16-2012 02:14 PM

i have no idea where you find those people

Yep. Low-information voters.

They always vote GOP.

All I know is that conservatives are going to burn the internet down when their guy doesn't win. It's going to be a glorious day of fireworks entertainment.

That's easy to understand. Why the fuck people vote for them is the confusing part. Look at all the people who voted for McCain and Palin. Now that's confusing.

Mitt Romney makes me fucking sick; he makes me wanna vomit. He embodies everything that is wrong with America. And the fact that there are people out there willing to vote for him is just... it's just mind boggling.

David Simon, writer and producer for HBO's "The Wire" put it quite well:

Quote:

Can we stand back and pause a short minute to take in the spectacle of a man who wants to be President of The United States, who wants us to seriously regard him as a paragon of the American civic ideal, declaiming proudly and in public that he has paid his taxes at a third of the rate normally associated with gentlemen of his economic benefit.

Stunning.

Am I supposed to congratulate this man? Thank him for his good citizenship? Compliment him for being clever enough to arm himself with enough tax lawyers so that he could legally minimize his obligations?

Thirteen percent. The last time I paid taxes at that rate, I believe I might still have been in college. If not, it was my first couple years as a newspaper reporter. Since then, the paychecks have been just fine, thanks, and I don?t see any reason not to pay at the rate appropriate to my earnings, given that I?m writing the check to the same government that provided the economic environment that allowed for such incomes.

I can?t get over the absurdity of this moment, honestly: Hey, I never paid less than thirteen percent. I swear. And no, you can?t examine my tax returns in any more detail. But I promise you all, my fellow American citizens, I never once slipped to single digits. I?m just not that kind of guy.

God.

This republic is just about over, isn?t it?

The sad part is the religious lunatics (as well as the super rich of course) will vote for the cocksucker. Last election, churches were telling people that Obama would force women to have abortions. This election, Obama is anti-religion because he supports birth control. Just the other day I saw a billboard with Obama's picture on it that said "He supports abortion and gay marriage" and I thought "good for him". All around here, there are signs that say "PROTECT RELIGIOUS FREEDOM - VOTE ROMNEY".

In other news, just think what another Republican in the White House will do to the adult industry with their war on porn. Remember Bush's Attorney General Ashcroft of 2257 fame?

I think the world thinks that all of America is filled with these lunatics, which is one of our problems. These idiots get all the attention.

The Obama administration has made it clear they have no intention of trying to re-instate the federal assault weapons ban. And he has been consistently moderate on gun control throughout his career.

But don't tell that to Rush, Faux, the NRA and the wingnuts...that radical marxist Blackie O'BlackGuy is comin' fer yer guns!!

You'll have idiots like raymour on this very board say something like "yeah but Clinton gave us CDA" (or whatever he always rants about) even though it has not affected us. He will gloss over the things that do affect us and then talk about how Republicans favor less government interference.

Yeah but he's locking up "Domestic Terrorists", killing Americans without trial, keeping Guantanamo open despite 2008: "I have said repeatedly that I intend to close Guantanamo, and I will follow through on that".

Democrats aren't any better than repubs - they both suck since Bill C. Esteemed international colleagues, debate me with stats, not "how come Americans are so stupid" or I might be tempted to compare and contrast US accomplishments with those of your home country.

The stuff no one likes that the US does, like our ridiculous money wasting wars, our hyper-religiosity, our "we are the best" image - trust me, most Americans are totally against that and embarrassed that it appears to be the case. What you are seeing on TV is an exception rather than a rule.

DTK 08-19-2012 11:11 AM

ilnjscb - you're right of course, he's just another centrist shill politician beholden to big money interests. Exactly like bush I, clinton, bush II, even reagan.

"Democrats aren't any better than repubs - they both suck since Bill C. "

I'd argue that this "change" happened even earlier.

Does anyone really still pay attention to politics ????

Obama is known as the most corrupty president of all time. He is a major flip flopper. He is so bad that he even makes Jimmy Carter smile.

Vote to get the fucker out of the white house.
