Some people are really stupid when it comes to Interwebs
Got this email today from a customer...'
"I'm going to reduce my budget next month by $250 because I signed up with an SEO plan with my website company. They told me you will need to update the links for any marketing, as soon as they are done creating them, I will let you know." Huh... this lady uses Wordpress for her sites, but a $250 SEO package? This seems like a scam. I asked her what she was buying and take a guess... "They create SEO links on my site for my URLs so when people are searching on Google, my site will crawl up the listings because of these URL renames. They told me thats why I have not been getting any traffic to the site and this should help." This is a MONTHLY subscription she bought and her company controls her website. They charged her $250 a month (plus a $499 setup fee) to check a box in Wordpress to make her links change from ID number to the title. Unreal! I told her not to buy this and to have them to change the URL formats, even with sending a screen shot. They responded with "he does not understand what he is referring to and that will actually cause damage to your website. These are manually renamed URLs made specifically for search engine traffic." I think im going to start a wordpress design company :1orglaugh:1orglaugh |
Next they tell her to spread her legs a bit more, so they can all fuck her at the same time. :1orglaugh

They even add insane monthly charges for hosting and dn registrations. Shit, I should just get into this. Contact their clients and charge them way, way less than what they do and still make bank and probably take them out of biz. |
IMO it doesn't matter the CMS/Price thingie, but more how it is setup, configured and designed.
I don't see a reason why wouldn't anyone charge 5k for a WP website (if it is done well).. |
When there's a spotty teenager willing to do the job for free, it doesn't help market rates.
It's not really about what a job is worth, more about the market rate and if the customer is aware of the market rate. |
