Mastercards payment facilitation will be going up from 1% to 1.5% in August so CB ratios will be more relaxed? They are increasing the number of CBs allowed as well?

I don't know though...this is just a wild guess. I'm not a paysite owner so I don't keep up on this stuff. I don't even make enough to pay rent. Lol, but I did read that somewhere recently I think. Shot in the dark....

halfpint 08-19-2012 01:05 PM

They are going to stop accepting porn sites ?

iSpyCams 08-19-2012 01:15 PM

Hard to imagine it would be good news for anybody but Mastercard.

DWB 08-19-2012 01:17 PM

A hint would be nice. At least a clue as if it is a positive or negative statement for the adult online industry.

peterk 08-19-2012 01:23 PM

people still use mastercard??

peterk 08-19-2012 01:24 PM

IPSPs like ccbill and epoch I think, but I also think they have ways to get around it.

beks001 08-19-2012 05:40 PM

Isn't it time to chime in a tell everyone by now?

MakingItPay 08-19-2012 05:55 PM

Perhaps CCbill will comment in this thread and let us sponsored merchants know what's up if Netbilling won't? My assumption is it's bad for CCbill, Epoch, but good for Netbilling?

TisMe 08-19-2012 06:59 PM

Everybody likes a smug prick Mitch, this is sure to bring you business.

Yes that is part of it which is a welcome change for once. This is the first time in my 16 years in the industry that chargeback thresholds have been increased in favor of the merchants.

The other part has to do with merchant volume and registration fees for sponsored merchants using payment facilitators (3rd party processors) which goes into effect September 15th. We will send NETbilling merchant newsletters and post here as well.

Thanks, Mitch

I was just starting conversation about a business topic. Sorry there are no boob pics in this thread.

TisMe 08-19-2012 07:46 PM

Not looking for boobs at all, if you know something related to the business why not just say it.

sounds like an important part is the one that talks about how any sub-merchant doing 8k/mo. in mastercard has to get their own merchant account...if im reading it right, MC is about 25%-30% of sales id guess, so it sounds like it affects programs that do 300k/yr in revenue

foreverjason 08-19-2012 08:51 PM

Good info if its right

Correct - Visa actually has a similar rule already in place but rarely enforced. Most larger merchants have their own merchant accounts anyway but enforcement of this could certainly change the landscape even more in that direction.

Will MasterCard also require $750 for each biller now as well - like Visa?

That would suck, unlike this gif, which is awesome! :thumbsup
