Dedicated to cloud hosting?

Has anyone converted from managed dedicated hosting plan at webair to cloud?

Opinions?

Maybe in a couple years...

your totally missing the point of a "cloud service". If your thinking how big a cock is on a midget vs blackzilla. then yes.. but if you think how many midgets can you get to gang bang something at once and then go away just as fast as they arrived.. but got the job done in 1/10th of the time. then you are thinking correctly.

The cloud is always a fantastic option depending on what exactly you are doing. Solution that require a lot of data processing like DB services really should be on dedicated hardware. The IO preformance is always better. HOWEVER if you are just hosting sites, with simple wordpress backends and you are doing video stream with no transcoding, than cloud or even high end shared hosting is the way to go.

From what little I know about it I think that cloud hosting is the way of the future, but not necessarily the way of the now.

Meh... shared resources.....

I was hunting for a cloud host recently and just ended up grabing a regular server becasue I needed high disk I/O and I'm NOT willing to pay 4x the price for an SSD cloud service.
