Liberty Media saying Oron has laundered money and is hiding it.

This is an interesting take on events.

As we all know, Liberty sued Oron and the judge forced a $550K settlement. Now Oron is asking that the judge unfreeze its assets so it can pay legal fees to file an appeal. Apparently Oron was supposed to file a detailed accounting of all their assets and still hasn't done so. Liberty is also saying that Oron laundered around $3million dollars into gold bullion that is hidden away and wasn't seized. Of course Oron doesn't want to spend that money it will show that they have it so Liberty is fighting to keep their assets frozen which will force them to dip into these hidden reserves which could open a whole new can of worms for them.

Sounds like Oron was up to a lot shadier things than just copyright violation

This is not really surprising in regards to kicking over a rock, and finding a powder keg.

I would bet if you did the same to a lot of other online companies, adult and mainstream, you would find much of the same. By that I mean, fingers in a lot of pies, hidden or offshore loot, etc.. Just look at the 'mouth of the south' and DWB conspiracy theories on file lockers, and alike.

:2 cents:

I don't doubt that a lot of companies do some of this kind of stuff especially if they were involved in shady business or a business that kind of runs in the grey area.

I can't imagine a fine upstanding company such as Oron doing anything like that!

Sadly I will be surprised if the judge goes along with the plan.

I remember that as well, but maybe since they haven't been paid yet things aren't actually finalized.
