The EU wants to ban all modified cars
 

The motoring world is alight over news that the EU may be about to attempt to ban ALL modified cars.

What are they trying to do, put thousands of people out of biz and many more out of a job, These idiots really have no idea. I vote we ban all governments, they really don't live in the same world as we do ..

Retarded. Don't they have an emissions testing system over there? As long as the modifications don't significantly increase emissions then what's the issue?

I don't know what it's like in Europe, but I think the Americans would have a revolt if they tried that LOL.

Around here it's illegal to have a modified car, if you have a modified car you are classified as a killer and are posing a threat to society.

Dont know if any of the Brit guys remember when they wanted to Type Approve motorcycles over here. It never happened thankfully, so hopefully this wont go ahead either

I doubt this will pass. There is no reason for it, and it would do a huge amount of damage.

I don't live in the UK, but every car I have has been modified in one way or another.

Don't underestimate the EU. We're talking about the same people that passed regulations about the size and shape of fruit and vegetables. We're talking about the same people who issued a directive about the curvature of bananas and cucumbers.

Yes this is happening right now. In the UK an authority has been set up called ATVOD that's www.atvod.car the Authority for Taking Vehicles Off Dee roads. Their remit is to ensure that all modified cars are banned in the UK. But they can only deal with UK citizens so if you're American, French, German or anywhere for that matter you can bring your modified vehicles here and drive around willy nilly.

That's just about stupid.

In my opinion all the cars should be dramatically changed.
Starting from security, leading with saving environment etc.

We have such a nice technology but yet so many people are dying in car/traffic accidents.

That's what you get when you pay people to sit around all day long with nothing to do but make up rules for everyone else. You can bet their stretched limo's will be excluded.
