I suggest you dont google his prison cell conditions, that really would make you depressed, each prisoner gets 3 rooms of his own, a bedroom, an office with a laptop and a gym :(

Aka_Bluey 08-24-2012 01:54 AM

Good job, but not long enough for taking the life of 77 people, the fucken fruitloop should never get out.

OK I didn't see that, that's obviously the punishment part of the sentence.

Dirty Dane 08-24-2012 02:36 AM

Bit of a misunderstanding, 21 years is the maximum sentence but that doesn't mean he will be released in 21 years.

The prosecution, which argued for insanity, could still appeal though so not sure it's over as of today.

adult-help 08-24-2012 02:51 AM

starting today europeans have no right to laugh at us justice system. 21 years is a joke...

Michael O 08-24-2012 03:24 AM

The max in Norway is 21 years since the philosophy of the criminal system is to reform prisoners and excessive prison sentences tend to defeat that purpose.
In this case he got 21 years but since its not a normal prison sentence he got but "detention".
Detention which are given around these part to extremely dangerous criminals and is outside the normal parameters of sentences, for Norway the minimum is 10 years, usually don't spend more than 15 and the max is 21 years unless extended it can be extended with up to 5 years every time he is about to be released by the courts if he is still deemed a risk to society, so basically he got life since I doubt he will ever not be seen a danger to society.

He got the max possible can ask for more than that.

Vengeance is not justice.

The only reason people like harsh prisons sentences and joke about rape/suffering in prison is because they hate their own lives.

One of the many reasons western culture as we know it will continue to collapse.

blonda80 08-24-2012 04:54 AM

I hope he won`t be free ever again!

Too easy. Let him suffer in a mental institution with Muslims for room mates.

Revisit this when a whack job kills your family and/or loved ones.

So your argument is that justice should be dictated by the whims of someone in an irrational state of grief?
Yea... no.

Yeah, his "cell" is nicer than most middle income American homes. He has three rooms. He converted one into an office (he's writing more books) and another into a gym. He also has a private computer with Internet access and gets to play his favorite game World or Warcraft a lot. The judge had to have WOW explained to her during the trial which was pretty surreal.

He is also eligible for parole after 10 years.

Wrong. He is eligible for parole after 10 and MUST be released after 21 years.

Jman 08-24-2012 10:30 AM

21 years/lifetime of taxpayers money going down the drain when only the cost of bullet would suffice to bring justice.

halfpint 08-24-2012 10:33 AM

he kills 77 people and only gets 21 years thats not even 1 year for each life

He has 3 cells One is his Jym, One for sleeping and One for working which has a laptop in it but not conected to the web ..until a few years time, yep he is working very hard on that laptop allready ...

edengay 08-24-2012 10:38 AM

What I don't like is that when he will be out, he will not be cursed and it could start again to kill same way...

That's not a prison cell, it's a large hotel room. With it's own gym.

That's not true at all. He could very well spend the rest of his life in jail because of the "detention" clause in the sentence

VenusBlogger 08-24-2012 12:15 PM

NORWAY is not a country used to CRIME, like USA or other american countries.

This guy was something not common there.

VenusBlogger 08-24-2012 12:24 PM

The best part that nobody here says, is that he will also get an income inside..

Around 1500 dollars per month, for working, either in kitchen or such, like all prisons get.

Many European countries are not used to Crime, that's why you see this.

The other day I saw Austrian Prisons, and they are very similar...

The problem is not in European prisons.. The problem is in INCREDIBLE BIG CRIME RATES in American countries...

That's the real problem.

I can't believe you allow people to buy guns in USA, are you fucking crazy there? And now every week we see another new episode of: "50 cops killing and shooting with 100 bullets a guy for hanging a knife"... WTF???

Have you seen the CRAZY CRIME RATES in MEXICO or COLOMBIA?.. They are fucking of control to the point that the NARCOS and GUERRILLAS have more power that the government or military forces... Fucking CRAZY.

PIRIOD.

Jman 08-24-2012 12:49 PM

the 50-round and 250-round boxes of a 9mm averaged 21¢ a bullet.

0.21$ and the problem is GONE!!!!!!!!

stephane76 08-24-2012 12:49 PM

He better hope he doesn't get out of Jail. I have a feeling he's going to have to hide if he does, that's a lot of family members / friends looking for his ass...

That is only true of people who are judged insane, which is why this is a big deal. 21 years is the maximum penalty allowed under law in Norway. He will be eligible for parole after 10. But he MUST be released after 21.

Not correct. He will not be released after 21 years but will be detained for 5 years at a time prolonged indefinitely (if he is deemed to remain a danger to society). This is fully explained in the verdict.

helterskelter808 08-24-2012 02:06 PM

^ Give London Banker some time; this has only been explained to him in this thread 5438954 times already.

_Richard_ 08-24-2012 02:11 PM

"Oslo's Ila Prison had built a psychiatric ward just for him in case of that result.

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2192920/Mothers-anger-Anders-Behring-Breiviks-jail-term-slaughtering-77-people.html#ixzz24V5BsvyK"

so they built a entire ward for a verdict that never happened

no wonder this dude is smirking
