You could make a gmail account and forward all the other email addresses to it

epitome 08-25-2012 08:32 PM

I always come back to Outlook. I've tried everything for awhile. Gmail is #2 for me and I use it for personal email but for biz I prefer Outlook.

You can use Gmail to check all of those accounts. You can even set it up so that when there is email from one of those accounts it labels it as such so you can know what email comes from what account.

I used Outlook for a long time then switched to Thunderbird. Now I work on two different computers and it sucked having some email stored on on PC and other emails stored on the other. I switched to gmail and have not looked back.

mpecker 08-25-2012 09:30 PM

I've been using it for years and for managing a ton of addresses, nothing else even comes close. It's really disappointing that Mozilla is going to stop developing it but they are still going to issue security updates for a year. Beyond that, it's open source so it's almost a sure bet that someone will pick up development where Mozilla left off. :2 cents:

When I think of Thunderbird:

Safari works well for me... :rasta

That's what I was thinking.... I bounce from computer to computer and I keep gmail running up on multiple boxes at the same time. It's nice.

Matyko 08-26-2012 12:44 AM

I was using 'The Bat' for many years, but moved to TB. Outlook was an enemy since day 0 for me.

HomerSimpson 08-26-2012 04:14 AM

Thunderbird portable - the easy way to login to all my mails from single spot when on the move... great application

iSpyCams 08-26-2012 07:41 AM

I used outlook for many years but when I discovered IMAP I also realized Outlook sucks as an IMAP client, Thunderbird is much better.

Outlook does have a lot of productivity features that I miss, but for the specific task of emailing, Thunderbird is much better.

bns666 08-26-2012 07:46 AM

:thumbsup for thunderbird, never liked outlook.

AllAboutCams 08-26-2012 07:53 AM

Ok im going to do a fresh install get a an ssd and run Thunderbird i can not handle this shit any more

Triple-A 08-26-2012 08:06 AM

Outlook is fine for me but I also use Gmail as a back up as I haven't got Outlook on my laptop so forward all mails to Gmail, it works perfectly.

What are those? Chances are that there are plugins for those.

DWB 08-26-2012 10:07 AM

Once I got used to Thunderbird, I never went back to Outlook. Love it.

Socks 08-26-2012 10:11 AM

Both of them were quite good 7 years ago.

Klen 08-26-2012 10:58 AM

Well no wonder they stopped developing it,since it wasn't bringing any money compared to firefox.

Why would anyone want to give more information about you and your business to google voluntarily ? Especially webmasters that are smarter than average joe. I mean I do not even like the fact that I have gmail account and that they know what I am up to (even if I do not keep secrets there). But adding even more emails to gmail? No, thank you.

MrCain 08-26-2012 03:05 PM

Thunderbird is the best, followed by The Bat. I don't like outlook and I don't trust free services such as Gmail. I think it's unprofessional to trust a free service with a key part of your business.

Freaky_Akula 08-26-2012 03:09 PM

I never liked Outlook. Thunderbird all the way!

For me it is all about about convenience. Does Google collect data on me? I'm sure they do, but it is worth that reality to have all my email in one place and not have jump from computer to computer to find things.

BTW in your sig you post a yahoo email to contact you. I'm sure they data mine just as much as Google does.

Don't waste your time on programs like that

Make 1 main gmail account then add all those 30 to it then you can still replay all the accounts with your current alias that each account has then also you can keep folders for each account you will be super organized.

After that you are free to access it from anywhere

hostcentrex 08-28-2012 01:25 PM

If you are using a mac and gmail/apps I have been using a client called sparrow. I really like it.

KingNigel 08-28-2012 01:30 PM

Yes, thunderbird is better.

Like I said - I have account at gmail as well, I do not like that. But there is no way that I will add other email accounts for them to data mine as well. Anyone who voluntarily does that or suggest doing that should stop.

XnaMe 08-28-2012 02:58 PM

Between Thunderbird and Outlook is the same war as IE and Firefox! :O

Thunderbird!:thumbsup

Gmail

Problem with GMail, is out of the blue will ask you to verify your account via your SMS. Too bad you already used it for another email account.

Much easier to go to somewhere like HostGator, buy a generic domain with unlimited email accounts. Oh my, your out $100 or so.

Use Thunderbird with MailWasher as a screener for junk. Automatic screeners like Postini cost me some job interviews. I just set MailWasher for specific items such as Chinese or Viagra.

MrCain 08-28-2012 03:03 PM

mineistaken is right. I won't buy hardlinks from or trade links with people who insist on using Gmail to discuss the deal.

djroof 08-28-2012 03:21 PM

yes.... is better!

AllAboutCams 08-28-2012 06:29 PM

If it's not working out for you try Post Box. There is both a PC and Mac version.

I'm loving Post Box. I used to be a Eudora user then tried The Bat when Eudora stopped development. Discovered Post Box and haven't looked back.

Somebody with their own email can still be going through gmail without you knowing tho.

Gmail's spam filter is lord of spam filters.

jigg 08-28-2012 09:38 PM

not sure if you're on Windows or not but I've been using Windows Mail (Windows Essentials 2012) since it came out and like it a lot.

WHen I moved all my emails to Thunderbird a while back the program couldn't handle them it was very sluggish so I just gave up and went back to WM

Zeiss 12-03-2012 12:54 PM

Don't use outlook. Even Sylpheed is better than that..

AllAboutCams 01-19-2013 10:39 AM

UPDATE
After using thunderbird for 5 months i will never use it again switched back to outlook and its like a breeze of fresh air
or maybe its because ive been using it longer
