Cell phone carriers.
I?m really having problems with my current cell phone carrier AT&T; I have 2 numbers with them, a standard LG and iphone 4. Can anyone suggest a decent carrier?
I prefer to stay away from Sprint and Verizon. I also understand there is a way I can keep my current numbers? Thanks. |
I use telstra but optus are good too.

I have two, T-Mobile is my primary with Verizon as my backup. No problems with either, and yeah, you can take your number with you unless you have a prepaid phone.

I thought it was common knowledge that At & T sucks. I remember after I dumped them, they tried to hang around for another year to get me back, by pulling some kind of "you still owe us $10 bullshit". I'm not even kidding. It was a nightmare and I ended up screaming on the phone several times -- and I'm a pretty chill dude. I think those motherfuckers are insidious.
I have zero complaints about Verizon. It's one of the only product/services in my life that I think is worth the money. |
Verizon rocks.
AT&T is running stunning. They should be fucking huge and in charge and doing their shit right. WTF happened to them? |
You can port your number and there are only so many national cell providers (rest are just resellers of their networks)... If you have AT&T and don't want Verizon or Sprint then I think that only leaves T-Mobile.

I carry mine everywhere.

Verizon's service is so spotty here that they keep making network "upgrades" to it. Every time they do, they break either 3G or 4G, forcing me to go to the opposite one. Each time, I have to pay full retail for a phone, LOL. Ask me how much I like them?

3 Iphone 4s on At&t = 220 a month bill.
3 Really really nice android on Virgin Mobile = 75 a month bill and it works fine. Why anyone would go with a contract phone over a prepaid is beyond me unless you just want a free phone that will end up costing you alot more over the course of a year. And baddog you can absolutely port a prepaid number as well :) You can just about do any number now adays. |
First off where do you live/work? Some carriers are stronger in different areas.
|
I live in Satellite Beach, Florida and Long Island, NY and have land lines at both locations. I really don?t use cell phones that much yet my bill with AT&T is always in the $250.00 range for both phones.
Think I?m going to give Virgin Mobile a try and the heck with these useless contracts. Thanks for some helpful information. |
You're on ATT and you don't want Sprint of Verizon. Considering those are the big three and all the other smaller carriers piggy back on those networks, there's not much available for you.
Maybe a Tracphone from Walmart, but even they use someone else's network. FYI...Virgin Mobile is owned by Sprint. |
