Awesome rig:) I wanted to try something different so went with the white case. I'll also move the fans to the front when I get time.

I was a little pissed that I couldn't set-up the H100 in push-pull. Think I'm going to get some scythe slipstream fans and do it that way, otherwise case is really good so far.

Takes an hour if you know what you are doing and it's really fun to know what's going on the inside.

Markul 08-31-2012 11:12 AM

Very nice rig :)

Paul&John 08-31-2012 11:46 AM

why is the psu on the bottom in the newer systems?

dallasnovelty 08-31-2012 11:54 AM

Those are very nice setups!! I just have a Thermaltake Case
http://www.nickshotchicks.com/pc/pc-...00M1W27-3a.jpg with a i5-3570K at 4.7Ghz

Roald 08-31-2012 12:00 PM

like 15 years ago I would have been like damn thats hot, and would have shared my specs and pics. Now I just want a fast enough laptop for mail and stats :D

Lonny 08-31-2012 01:06 PM

Awesome rig man.
At first glance I thought it resembled the one I have sitting in my closet till I scrolled over and seen it was way shorter them mine in size, I have a Silverstone Raven 2 I picked up about a year ago over at Amazon for 127.00 with free shipping.
Case goes for 200.00 US in allot of places.

Will be bookmarking this thread for some pointers on my next build in the coming months...

Doesn't take long at all, and I do it as a side job so yes I do:)

I've only slightly pushed this to 4.6Ghz, Plenty of people have done 5 Ghz plus np's.

Main reason is heat (runs cooler on the bottom) and cable management. Most of the cheaper styled cases still have it at the top, but I prefer bottom mounted psu's.

Silverstone make some sweet looking cases, I like the look of those Raven 2's :) Nice and big.

Except make you smarter and less morbidly obese.

@Darkhorse:

That new machine of yours must attract chicks to you like, well... I dunno what girls are attracted to anymore :(

That's a nice looking machine, but FUCK YOU for making me want to go buy a new computer. I can either fill myself up on milk chocolate, shitty German beer, and sticky buns like Currently Sober; or take his $1,400 per diem food allowance and invest it in a sleek new PC.

Fucking decisions...

Lace 08-31-2012 06:04 PM

Jesus...I need to organize my cables inside mine a little better. Or just update it.

I'd walk around with it everywhere if it wasn't so fugging heavy lmao. And lol, I try to put Beer before anything else;)

Not only looks cleaner, but better airflow as well:)

shake 08-31-2012 07:19 PM

I need to build a new PC for video editing. My old quadcore has served me well, but time for something faster for HD movies :thumbsup

papill0n 08-31-2012 07:29 PM

looks like a sexual unit

marlboroack 08-31-2012 07:44 PM

I got a Mac today and it sucks ass imo

PiracyPitbull 08-31-2012 07:53 PM

Nice rig and good to see you took the time to tidy the wiring.

fetishwealth 08-31-2012 10:20 PM

Rosewill Blackhawk Ultra Case

"Cooler Master Storm Stryker" is a very nice case.

Here is one of our supercomputers at fetishwealth for our video stuff. It all nicely fits
inside Rosewill BlackHawk Ultra case. It's a GIANT!!

http://development.m3support.com/gfy.jpg

It has 18 fans w/ cover installed.. So no problem with cooling.

You might ask why someone would need 96gb of ram, well when rendering a AE project it's uses all of the memory (93gb).

It cost around $7k to build, I built the same computer online at the apple store and I stopped building it once the total reached $13k and It was 3/4 complete.
Apple products are so overpriced for the same stuff.

It doesn't take long at all, you can put together one in about 30 minutes...maybe an hour if you want to have clean cabling and all that.

I've been building PCs for awhile and I love it...it's great to be able to pick what parts you want and customize it exactly to your liking....all at a much cheaper price then buying prebuilt (or a mac)

I think it's one of the most important things to do. Nothing worse then a nice looking case and wiring everywhere and anywhere inside lol.

Took me about 3 hrs to get this together, mainly because it's a new case and I wanted to get everything together properly the first time.

I agree on building your own system, There's nothing better then putting it all together and having it work.

Up until a few years ago I always got a mate to do all my pc work, but he moved away and well I figured it was time I learn't how to do it.

Looks great:) and bet it fly's:)

famous 08-31-2012 10:51 PM

what hdd you got to get a 7.1 on it? I just installed a WD Velociraptor and it rates at a 5.9 which is lame. Drive is fast as hell.

Lot easier to steal a one-piece box from the apple store, than to steal many different parts from various stores...
