Server Speed Tests
 

Hey all,

I have two different servers from two different hosting companies and I would like input on how fast you can download a 100MB file in your particular location.
I am in the UK and I am particularly interested to know how fast (or slow) these download for US surfers.

The files are:
SERVER 1 100MB Test

SERVER 2 100MB Test

If you have time please try the two links and post how fast they download for you and where your geographical location is.

server 1 = 6.38M/s in 17s

server 2 = 4.35M/s in 24s

from New York on Optimum Cable 50mbit/sec residential cable

2.3MB/sec on both.. I'm on a 20mbps connection.

Server one Stayed at about 1.8 Mbps
Server two was bouncing between 1.2 and 2.1 mbps

To Comcast cable modem in Baltimore MD

server 1 - 1.5mb/s
server 2 - 1.3mb/s

I'm in Minneapolis on a 30mb cable connection.

#1 - 1.2mb/s
#2 - ~950 - 1.0mb/s

600mb/s and 500mb/s

thats low :( im on a 60mb/s connection.

you will need to format your numbers because what you state is not possible

Server #1 = 3.0mb/s throughput
Server #2 = 3.4mb/s throughput

30mbps cable (wireless N) - Montreal, Canada

1st: 1.8mb/s

2nd: 1.2mb/s

Las Vegas
1st: 6.37M/s in 17s
2nd: 5.03M/s in 21s

Seattle
1st: 7.72M/s in 20s
2nd: 8.68M/s in 16s

fengwu83 I can only assume that you meant KB/s ? And yes that is slow if that's the case. I can only imagine a routing issue from your isp as it is significantly slower than the other results!
