We are delighted to share some fantastic news with you.

ICM Registry is launching our new search engine dedicated to developed .XXX websites and .XXX content on September 27th.

We are focusing much of our efforts on delivering a quality user experience with highly relevant search results. It is our chance, as promised, to give something back to you and the consumer.

ICM Registry is committing further investment on an advertising campaign to promote the search engine bringing real value to .XXX domains through additional traffic generation at no additional cost to domain owners.

CurrentlySober 09-17-2012 12:23 AM

Me Too ! Great News !

Hopefully, it will make the fact that I remortgaged the house to be able to renew all my .XXX domains for a further year, a good descision

Now traffic will REALLY kick in ! Woot Woot!

Nasty Julia 09-17-2012 01:01 AM

Same here. I know everyone is against them, but lets try and see if their search.xxx is going to change a few things.

We have bought someones complete portfolio of sites and domains and there are some domains in that portfolio that are pretty good keyworded .xxx domains. At the moment its still running a whitelabel hostedtube thingie and we do get traffic from that search.xxx already.

And since google is only favouring tubes and illegal shit, maybe we can get some sales in from another search engine :)

I agree. After all, when Joe Surfer knows that he can type a porn term into google, and get tons of free content, I bet he wont be able to wait to use search.xxx in order to get porn that he needs to pay for !

Result !

BACK OF THE NET!!!!

Yes if surfvers ever will get to know xxx, an issue it is they will figure it is only for paid things, and so skip.
If xxx allowed only free tubes, then it would have been popular possibly.

Great news :winkwink:

Lol, another ICM Registry success story.

In the past 5 months only just over 2000 new .xxx have been registered. (source: registrarstats)

Almost all registrars have first lowered their prices on .xxx and later stopped pushing them completely.

Remember when Domainnamenews analyzed the registration numbers for the.xxx tld and the Alexa traffic stats for those domains. They found that not only are there hardly any developed .xxx domains, the majority of those that have been developed have almost no traffic.

According to registrarstats, there are 119,053 .xxx domains now. In December 2011, Domainincite (which has always been very pro .xxx) published an article "Was .xxx's launch disappointing?":
Quote:

ICM CEO Stuart Lawley has previously predicted 300,000 to 500,000 registrations in the first few months, and that's still an achievable goal
Remember that mythical Paypal killer ICM Registry talked about? The one that would do $3 billion to $4 billion in transactions a year....

Remember when Lawley told Businessweek that ICM Registry would be making $200 million a year of of .xxx domains alone?

ICM Registry has been talking about this search engine for a very long time now. No wonder they're finally about to launch 'something'... when the first wave of .xxx domains is about to expire in a few months.

How long until the ship goes down? The tld may stick around for a long time... but the company running it?...

lucas131 09-17-2012 09:28 AM

what a huge fail

Nikki_Licks 09-17-2012 09:52 AM

FUCK icm, stewart lawley and .XXX :321GFY:321GFY....

Yanks_Todd 09-17-2012 10:04 AM

Are they going to run TV ads to promote it? Or is that just to get our money? I use our as a generality as I own no .xxx domains.

Seems pointless unless they let the surfers know it exists.

It's a scam to trick people into renewing their dotxxx domains.

PornMD 09-17-2012 02:13 PM

Wow - you mean a search engine that only searches new sites on subpar domains? Count me in! Why as an avid porn surfer would I want my search to bring up those shitty free tubes with full length videos when I can instead bring up Johnny webmaster's attempt to get me to pay for porn so he can get a cut?

Oh, and I can also bring up unpopular cam and dating sites rather than the most popular ones where everyone would be at. Damn, what CAN'T search.xxx do?

PornMD 09-17-2012 02:14 PM

Btw, on a serious note, I had no clue they hadn't already developed that. They gave it as a major selling point at public launch - I thought it was going to be live a month or two after launch at worst.

Herd 09-17-2012 05:11 PM

Hasnt there already been pornographic specific search engines in the past? Doesnt seem like they do too well since most people looking for porn are using Google. Google is not going to give up their porn searching monopoly to some new competitor.

This is not pornographic specific; it is .xxx specific.

DotXXX 09-18-2012 08:47 AM

Search.XXX

Thought I?d chime in, sorry for the delay.

Search.XXX is set to go live on September 27th and it will include all live (both free and pay) .XXX sites that are associated with a membership token ? meaning if your website resolves and there is content - it will be crawled.

We have not included parked pages.

We will be advertising Search.XXX to the public.

Any other questions, please feel free to ask.

What is your point? If pornographic specific search engines have failed, a .xxx specific search engine is even more likely to fail.

2intense 09-18-2012 09:07 AM

search.xxx its only for .xxx domains or will be included .com .net etc etc also?

My point is that it is not a porn specific search engine; I was making no other point. I was not judging whether or not it will succeed. I am not sure why Lawley has not been consulting with you though. I am sure your input would be invaluable.
