Check out Minimal Desks. My friend Philip runs this site and there is a ton of inspiration for you there.

Sharky 09-18-2012 11:44 AM

Is this the command center? I was expecting a mural of your favorite feet or something...

Snazzy stuff. Pair one of those with a Herman Miller chair and we're talking.

This is my home office "right now" taken with my cell phone with this thread up in the center screen...

This was with my cell phone so it's not the greatest picture.

Mine is a mess... so no. You can't see.

ExtremeBank_Adam 09-18-2012 12:47 PM

We recently moved into a new place, so it's still a wreck. Not even gonna show the rooms where shit is piled up to the ceiling, lol.

Here are a few pics:

My main desk(s). Three PCs with dual monitors, one with single, and one 27" Mac. (And, my car parked outside.)

View from my assistant's desk (looking toward my desk).

My wife's (Alysha) desk. Basic stuff for paying work related bills, etc. She does most stuff from home.
http://www.extremebank.com/images/gfy/office/003.jpg

Our "reception" area desk. Never used...
http://www.extremebank.com/images/gfy/office/004.jpg

Two of our shooting rooms. The others are filled with junk still...

Our lube cabinet, and a pic that was sent from a fan...

Because we have multiple sites, so I need to multitask.

Everyone has a lube cabinet, right?

Actually, we're sponsored by Wet! Lubes... so we get all we need from them. :-)

I've worked from home at certain periods, but I find I'm much more productive at my office. (Especially since my son was born! :-) )

I can never understand why some people have more than 1 monitor...

Humans can ONLY look at 1 monitor at once..

I once tried to work with two monitors, its so fucking impossible and annoying, it really makes no sense, you can do everything better and more focused with 1 monitor...

You have two eyes and can only concentrate in 1 thing, you canīt look at two or more monitors at once...

Just sayin...

When you're developing websites, it's convenient to develop, code and design on one screen, and use the other screen to see the result..

For example when learning to code it was very helpful to have 1 monitor with preview/tutorials and 1 with code. Its good to use ultramon.

What about say

- you are editing a video and have the preview panel on the second monitor
- you are coding and have the test page / site / whatever on the second site
- you are writing a description of a gallery on one monitor and have the second monitor with the gallery open
- you are communicating on skype / icq / whatever about a problem you see on a website
- have a clip playing whilst writing a description about it

Lots of reasons to run multiple monitors - prefer it myself over the one for the reasons listed above and a heap more.

Vapid - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-19-2012 03:38 AM

I have wooden desk and it hold much.

These are 2 monitor situations. What about 4? :)

I used to use 4, 1, email, 1 instant messaging, 1 browser, and 1 maximized excel, very useful when analyzing a ton of data that you need to collect from dozens of locations.

I have downsized to one 30" for now anticipating my moving into a trailer park with limited space because of my impoverished state.

Exactly, but actually there are two workstations in the outer office. (If you take a pic of it from my office you can see them.

I have a friend who day trades and has a six monitor setup.

I love my two, and could possibly handle three, but never six. I could never go back to one monitor. That's one of the reasons I cannot work on my laptop.

Markul 09-19-2012 06:16 AM

Today I'm sitting at the midget table at a clients office:
http://zmypic.com/img/imag0928.jpg

Monday we're checking out a new office space my mainstream company will be renting :thumbsup it'll be good to sit together again as a company, much more productive than sitting the two of us with one client and the rest fragmented with others.
