A question about sites like thehun.net
I remember when I was sprouting pubes and visiting sites like thehun.net.
Some of the directories have converted into tubes, others look stuck in time. So... Do they retain high traffic just from people over the years sticking to habits of the daily browse or what? Many directories literally look like they've been stuck in time for years and years. Of course revamping a site (especially if design isn't modular) is serious work and with diminishing returns there probably isn't much incentive to do so. .... |
They made a lot of money in the past and they still make some ok sales and are too afraid to change. They think if they change the site their surfers will not like it and won't come back anymore and then they won't get sales anymore.
Very stupid. |
yep, exactly like konda says.
|
Yeah, its ridiculous how some of these great old adult sites are stuck in 1998

Those who still visit The Hun are going there because they like it. GFY is pretty basic too, but it's effective and popular

If it ain't broke...

The Hun's users aren't going there for the design, much like any TGP site. I'd argue the lack of change with the Hun for so many years is one reason why, as a TGP, the site is still so popular among its user base.
A lot of people these days cannot see the value in these "old" sites, especially picture ones. Others know how to take full advantage of them and/or convert the traffic from them consistently. :2 cents: |
Next to impossible to find a "clean" TGP or Tube site - and do not tell me most tube sites are clean with their fucking ad-laden players and pages.
When you go to The Hun, you get what you click on - not a massive wall of confusing, blinking ads. |

oh, and why to change when you can start new tube and just put big banner in header, "thehun tube" and people will go there same as if its another page of original hun, or replaced original page, what may bring your traffic down. sure hun lost traffic, but there are still people who likes linklist and thats why sites like hun, thumbzilla, al4a and others are still like they are :winkwink: :2 cents: nice to have them still around! :thumbsup

Meh, don't agree at all. |
I'd say the hun did the right thing by not converting his site to another tube.

The way it will always be. :2 cents: |

If you can... test test test.
Talked to a guy here in town that works for adobe and that's his job is to test impressions of different designs on the site and see how they work. Of course scumbag owners can always see who is pushing them the most sales and then copy those sites (assuming they look good). MarkGTS did this I believe. |

none - the hun gets revenue from pre-paid gallery placements on the top 15 spaces and banners. the rest of thegalleries are free placements.
