Christopher Mallick's Box Office Record....

http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV...334_SY500_.jpg

Just saw that "After Porn Ends" is available on Netflix (didn't watch it as it looks God Awful), and it got me thinking, I wonder how he's still making movies after what appears to be 3 disasterous flicks.

MiddleMen:

Budget-$20-$22 million
Box Office-$755,000

After Porn Ends:

Budget-$400,000
Box Office-not one shred of info=loss

Columbus Circle:

Budget-estimate-$10 million
Box Office-not one shred of info=loss

Now, he may have made up for the bad box office with DVD/VOD, but considering how bad all the trailers for these movies were, I really doubt it.

Anyone have better info than I've manage to briefly scrounge up?

I watched it, posted about it, when it first came out. Not too shabby I suppose.

It was a lot better than Middle Men. That's for sure.

:2 cents:

Mallick is like a toilet for money. I guess everyone should have gone to see Middle Man - maybe Epass would still be around. :P

After Porn Ends seems like retaliation for the backlash he received from the industry...

So he did what Romney did... He borrowed a ton of money, invested into something that had potential to make money, charged a massive consulting fee, and then walked away when it failed to deliver.

sandman! 10-01-2012 01:15 PM

i saw Columbus Circle was a decent movie.

I was thinking the same thing when I was watching the trailer. That and wondering how much more collagen Houston can inject in those lips of hers...

On a side note Amber Lynn still has it!

I watched it. It was boring and looked like it they scrimped and saved everywhere they could. I can't explain it but it "looks" cheap.

You're forgetting DVD and other licensing. A movie's value extends past the original time in theatres.

Also, he is not the Executive Producer, only the producer according to IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2672832/). The EP is usually the financial investor in the film, while the producer overseas the production of a film while preserving the original vision of the film. Sometimes they invest, but not always. Sometimes a person can contribute expertise to a film in exchange for a production credit.

Markul 02-06-2013 03:47 PM

Pretty lame now that I've seen it, glad I wasn't paying all that much attention to it :)

Have any of you people considered taking ESL courses at your local community college? Mallick is a thief, but he is a successful thief because most of you are fucking illiterate.

candyflip 02-06-2013 04:52 PM

Under the right circumstances a producer can make much more with a flop. :winkwink:

Boogie Nights and The People vs Larry Flynt did poor at the box office and those were amazing films but being about adult less people go to see them Now you make a shitty movie and want to make the main character a saint because its you. I think it gives a unrealistic character portrayal and it fails.

Both of these movies were directed by people that most consider film geniuses. Chris Mallick isn't working with those types of people.

So many people say they lost money but only a few do anything about it:disgust

Everybody involved in the production of Middlemen that brought something to the table was previously a good screenwriter. Then they tried directing, producing, etc and found out that they didn't know shit about shit. Oops.
