San Francisco is known as a liberal-progressive city, that is generally more tolerant about individual freedom of lifestyle/expression than most areas of the US, but they do prosecute prostitution here, particularly when it appears that sex trafficking, underage girls, or coercion/exploitation is involved.
Personally, I would like to see prostitution made legal, with regulations and safeguards instituted that provide protection for sex workers, and public health and safety. I am fine with taxing prostitution as a business in order to pay for the regulation and enforcement.
