Which is the root of all evil?
With religion comes dogma and faith and worshipping an imaginary friend, and then often times killing for your beliefs.
With money comes greed, exploitation, entitlement, etc. I've got to go with religion though on this one. Discuss... |

Religion. It's inevitable when beings start to become self aware. It caused problems for me when I was having a crisis of faith but after breaking down and cooling off... it's been one of the greatest reliefs of my life.
Church is still a good place to go and meet people or get and idea but beware of any of them finding out some of the stuff you do :1orglaugh |

Religion. Religion is falling back on the belief of a higher power that may or not be present. It allows many to lay back and think that God or whoever a person worships will make the right things happen for them if they worship hard enough.
The desire to have money, encourages a person to work hard to accumulate it. In essence, the opposite of relying on a higher power. However, the 2 do go hand in hand. No $, there is no religion. |
I blame those damn she devils..women are the root of all evil

Money isn't the root of anything. It is simply a symbol that we use to denote value. We use that symbol because some measurments of value are not physical and therefore need a symbol in order to be represented in a practical, portable way.
People who really think that "money is the root of all evil", need to some reading in basic economics..... . |

First of all, it is not "money is the root of all evil", it is "the love of money is the root of all evil". Quite a significant difference.
Secondly: :1orglaugh at the people seriously answering 'religion'. "The root of all evil" is a religious concept. By even answering the question you are demonstrating how oblivious you are to your own religious brainwashing. |

Would evil exist as a concept without religion?

Crack cocaine /thread
The root? Free will! Without evil, we could never know what good is supposed to be. And rinse and repeat both ways, Somewhere in the wash you will find the answer. Good Luck! |

Your cost of money (greed, exploitation, entitlement, etc) can also be easily applied to religion. The truth is, both are necessary. Money allows trade, and religion brings peace of mind & inspiration to many (to say nothing of art, music, and general good will). People just need to stop closing their eyes, thats all. |
Stupidity and religion often go hand in hand.
