Can Remote Programmers Be Trusted WIth Big Databases?
Do you guys have any horror stories?
Lets say, u hired someone locally. Then they ended up stealing your content/script etc etc? How can this be prevented? tnx |
Why just 'big databases'?
Use your instincts - Would you give them your mobile phone for a week? |

Otherwise spend a few more months on here and see if you can work out who the good guys are. |

You will drive yourself mad that way. Spend some time on here and other boards - You can not just come on here and ask "Who can I trust?".... I could give you a dozen names, but how do you know you can trust me? |

Build a second database, that is a complete carbon copy bar the actual info in the tables - put dummy info in the tables and get them to write whatever code it is that you need done.
|
Dump the schema but not the data and let him work with that.
|
Use dammy db and buy navicat mysql gui to update it yourself
|
Don't let programmers work on live databases, use a test database for development and use Git to manage your projects, that way you can keep a close eye on code as it's developed and even manage your own changes.
If you don't have the skills to manage a project, hire a trusted project manager to do it for you and keep them at arms length from the developer employment process. |
find local, or what adultking said, let them work on fake db. every programmer have a brain and if you have brain you will for sure save everything that is useful or may make money, maybe you will not use it, but everyone will save it :2 cents: no ethics here, just money hunting :winkwink: have luck! :)
