United Airlines Flight 175 Animation with ATC Recording - September 11 2001
 

Just found this vid done by a member of another forum. Pretty impressive.



An animation of the flight of UA175 on September 11 2001. This animation is synced with the FOIA ATC audio between 1214 to 1304 UTC from the following positions;

BOS 26 LCE
A90 112 Initial Departure
A90 112 Lincoln Sector
ZBW 134 SEC 46R
ZBW 135 SEC 47R
ZBW 133 SEC 20R
ZNY 128 R42
ZNY 142 R42
N90 31 TMUDD

Initial flight path simulated is not accurate, but the from 4:00 onwards is not too far out. I did this to give a sense of realism with the last flight of United 175.

FOIA ATC audio cleaned with CyberLink WaveEditor to remove interference. Video compiled using PowerDirector. Animation is filmed using Fraps and Microsoft FSX.

This is not intended to be an accurate simulation.

Surprises me that nobody finds this interesting. Oh well.

it is very interesting, watched and listened to it while I was getting some work done. Was eerie listening to the guys on the radio as the plane passed the Statue of Liberty and into the WTC

Very disturbing experience even just watching that.

That is so fucking freaky, man the part where the guy and his wife and 2 year old daughter knew they were going to die.. what the hell would you do? What the hell would I have done? Would I have just set there and prey it would all be ok? Or would I have tried to take down some or all of the guys? FUCK IF I KNOW!! Hope to god I would never ever have to be put in that scenario! I find it interesting.

Some people still question how a terrorist with flight training and fly into a large building, and yet we have some 16 year old kid on flight sim who can take off and mimic an exact flight - and make a video about it. Surprise.

I also find it interesting that some people still question why the air force never did anything. In the last ten minutes of the video you can hear flight controllers or whomever who had utterly no clue of what was going on. It's very easy to say "stop that plane" but it's impossible to pick out one plan out of thousands in the sky at the moment.

I thought they did nothing because the Government conveniently had them all performing a drill that day, so they were either out of range or unable to know what was really happening.

Really? Because it's so fucking difficult to fly a plane? Then how is it that I, without any flight school at all, have flown an airplane? Granted, there was a real pilot with me, but it really isn't that difficult at all.

No one knew what was happening that day. It was mass confusion all around. It's like calling your local highway patrol office and saying "there is a mini van that might be on the freeway that is acting odd". Imagine you are an air traffic controller and your tracking a plane that is not communicating to you and is heading in the wrong direction.... Have your boss call NORAD? That's exactly what they did... And told them what? That they wanted them to shoot down a passenger airliner?

Prior to 9/11 we never so much as given thought to shooting down a passenger airliner over and the US, and I find it difficult to imagine circumstance where we would do that today.

So what happened in all the NORAD drills in the years prior to 2001 that involved planes being flown into buildings, including the WTC? They ended up just letting it happen?

Lemme ask you something. You're an evil terrorist living in the Middle East and you want to fly planes into buildings in the US, but you can't fly. What do you do? Learn to fly in the country you're in, out of sight of the Uncle Sam? Or do you go to the US and spend months trying to learn to fly right under the nose of the FBI?

The end of that video made me sick to my stomach. What a horrible way to go.

I've also scratched my head as to why they chose the USA to learn how to fly. Seems like a unnecessary risk. I guess it all worked out for them, but still seems like you would train where no one could possibly know what you are doing or why.

The sad things is they had the warning , if they issued a warning an dont open the cockpit door for any reason. All those people would still be alive.

More like millions of pounds of debris from humongous skyscrapers that fell down into it completely destroying the lower infrastructure of the building that held up the rest of it.

Does it "appear" to have been a controlled demolition? Yes it does, but I would say it's also possible that the building collapsed for the reason I mentioned above.

It (Building 7) was meant to have Flight 93 sitting in it's center, but the flight was delayed by over 40 minutes at the airport, meaning the building had to be taken down with no plane inside. :2 cents:
