A spokesman for the store said that management is “horrified about the video... We do not condone restraining any customer.” the employee who bit the guy was fired and the other two have to take some kind of training seminar. no charges against the employees yet the shoplifter was charged with assault among other things.

That's not true really.... Store employees - security or otherwise - cannot legally detain you or touch you in any way. They are not police officers or law enforcement in any way shape or form, and have no powers other than that of any ordinary citizen. If they detain you it's legally kidnapping, and if they touch you it's assault.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

I say he got what he deserved. I would have done more if it were my store. And you can legally detain him by force, he did exit the store and they pulled him back.

Just the other week me and a friend tackled a Negro who store liquor from our friends store, and held him down until the cops came. It was a 60 dollar bottle of goose.
