No, I'm completely oblivious to the mega-corporation that Disney is.

We are talking about the movie branch here. They went from kids movies to movie powerhouse, like I said. They have been buying studios and big titles like crazy.

After the last three star wars movies and the new Indiana Jones I can honestly say

THERE IS NO WAY THAT DISNEY CAN FUCK UP THESE FRANCHISES WORSE THAN LUCAS FILMS

Does this acquisition include rights to the Indiana Jones franchise...at least to some extent?

exactly... it can only get better, and jar jar was 100% Lucas idea and now he wont be around for people to reluctantly say yes to.

Let's see what comes good or bad out of this.

they have made some very cool films and are a very stable companies for years. I feel this could be a good thing for the movies and everything around it.

Yep. I'm sure it's just mere coincidence that the Star Wars movie most people consider to be the best is the one he neither directed nor (co-)wrote the screenplay for.

I don't know what to think of this - they did do very well with Marvel - but wow

It doubt it could get any worse than the last trilogy. Lucas proved he can't make good movies anymore and thankfully wasn't going to make any more. He will remain as "creative adviser" but won't have much control. The two choices are: let the series die, or have someone else take over. I can't think of a company better leveraged to do so than Disney.

Yeah I'm starting to think that Lucas had much less to do with the success of them than his supporting cast and producers did. When he had 100% control things went to shit. His producers had to force him to make han solo and luke skywalker human for fuck sakes..
