Disney has just confirmed that it has agreed to acquire George Lucas? Lucasfilm Ltd, and that includes rights to the Star Wars franchise that will now continue on. The companies have targeted a 2015 release for Star Wars: Episode 7, with Episode 8 and Episode 9 to follow as the the long-term plan is to release a new feature every two or three years. ?The last Star Wars movie release was 2005?s Revenge Of The Sith ? and we believe there?s substantial pent-up demand?, Disney said. The deal also includes rights to the Indiana Jones franchise.

2005. Damn. It's crazy to think that was seven years ago already.

:1orglaugh I think we need 4 more threads about this on the 1st page!

As a huge Star Wars fan I'm really worried that disney will blow it.. Granted Jar Jar ruined one already but the last 2 brought it back..

I don't see how Disney could blow anything after I and II. I enjoyed III, but I literally turned off II halfway through.

Never watched star wars. Should I see it in order, or in order of release? Original or remastered? I heard it's all backwards and shit.

brassmonkey 10-30-2012 08:12 PM

You want to watch the old, original films. The rest is pure crap.

shinmusashi44 10-30-2012 10:27 PM

Well with Luca out of the way, we can get more movies. Maybe we can get a Howard the duck 2 haha

sojproductions 10-30-2012 11:32 PM

you never know, they might pull it off, 1, 2 and 3 were so bad (3 was mediocre) that they can't make it worse, they might even be able to save the series... still should have left well alone with the first 3 though, greed wins!
