The most relieved man in the world 24 hours from now.........

... will be Barack Obama as he accepts defeat. I don't think he really wanted another term, that first debate almost looked like self sabotage.

Socks 11-05-2012 07:58 PM

A $100 bet on Obama gets you $27 and your $100 back
A $100 bet on Romney gets you $350 and your $100 back

Go cleanup man!

L-Pink 11-05-2012 07:58 PM

LiveDose 11-05-2012 08:00 PM

I'll take that bet with anybody here on GFY - not interested in registering for an online betting shop.

Mutt 11-05-2012 08:08 PM

I'll better those odds for somebody who wants to bet on Obama - if Romney wins give me $200, if Obama wins I give you $100.

You'd lose that bet.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 11-05-2012 08:17 PM

Here is Obama from earlier today at his final campaign stop in Columbus, Ohio, where Bruce Springsteen and Jay-Z did a performance to help get out the vote for Obama tomorrow. Looks pretty energized to me:

I really hope Obama wins four more years tomorrow. :thumbsup

There's that word again, hope - I guess I still have some hope.

Resume the spin cycle... :winkwink:

Take that $100 and buy some stocks.
It's a win/win
If Obama wins in four years you get your $100 back.
If Romney wins, in four years you will get $200+

Common practice is to say "I'll give you 2 to 1 odds on that", not "Give me 2 to 1 odds on that". Your the one asking for someone to take the bet, and you want someone else to risk $200 for you to win while you only have to risk $100?

At least for the fact that he's not a corny jackoff like Romney. No corny-ass presidents.

And in four years Romney will be contemplating suicide. Its impossible to be an American President post 9/11.

what? there are bookmakers all over the world taking bets and the current betting line has Obama as a heavy favorite.

Odds To Win: On to the odds to win tomorrow's Presidential election... Since our last update, President Obama has taken a huge lead over GOP nom Mitt Romney. Just a few weeks ago we were talking about Romney getting closer to 1/1 odds but, since then Romney has dropped all the way down to 3/1 odds or +300. And with that large downward swing for Romney, Obama's election odds have shot up to 1/4 or -400. The difference? A $1 wager on Romney pays $3 ($4 total) versus a $1 wager on Obama that would pay just $.25 ($1.25 total).

i'm giving Obama bettors $1.50 on a $1 wager which is a 100% better return than the betting shops are.

It's funny because Obama drew 23k down here in Broward County the other day.

Last night Romney was campaigning in PA. The turnout was small and Romney was late. People were reporting on Twitter that they wanted to leave but the Romney staffers were blocking them in.

So, how do we bet? Paypal okay? But, I want to keep my paypal addy confidential, do you agree to that and accept a nondisclosure rider?

Do pm's still work on gfy? I forget. If not we could pm on some other board.

It's not quite intrade odds, but as americans we cant legally use intrade.

What's the resolution in the event of a tie or, say, if the republicans do a vote contesting thing?

You're saying you'll put down/risk $100 if someone else puts down/risks $200. You're not wrong in saying/doing that. It's just not normally how people bet, my point was simply that usually if a bet is made where one side must risk more that the side which risks more is the initiator. :upsidedow

24 hours isn't accounting for all of the voting related lawsuits that are already being filed for myriad reasons!

woj took my bet. i'd take your action but no reason for a non-disclosure rider - why would i give your paypal address to anybody?

if the election results get tied up in some legal dispute or some long re-count process that takes longer than 2 days - then the bet would be off.

President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney reached out to Ohio voters one last time before the polls open this morning.

Both candidates held rallies Monday evening in Columbus, about 10 miles and several hours apart.

Standing on stage before 15,500 at Nationwide Arena, the president acknowledged that the change he promised four years ago hasn't come as quickly as he and others had hoped.

But as he has for months on the stump, Obama argued that a vote for Republican challenger Mitt Romney would be a vote for failed policies of the past. Referring to a GOP-controlled U.S. House of Representatives, he blamed "the status quo" for fighting much of his agenda.

The Ohio Republican Party estimated 10,000 were inside the hangar with a few thousand more outside, unable to fit inside the massive building. It was one of Romney's largest crowds for an Ohio campaign event.

This column by Peggy Noonan, a Reagan speech writer, swayed me, mostly her observations about Obama's personality and psyche through the campaign - definitely not scientific but I have noticed the same things. Romney has looked, sounded like the candidate with a mission and passion for what he's doing. Obama looks like a guy who's trapped out on a golf course all day on some corporate golf outing, his round is going horribly and he wants off the course but has to go through the day or look bad and leave.

Nate Silver's revised numbers tonight put Obama's chance of winning at 91%

ok, i have woj, bill8, and jscott

i'm actually pulling for Obama, one term presidents carry the taint of a loser forever and this guy walked into a shit storm with the economy and then an obstructive vindictive Republican controlled Congress(Senate).

Last 3 American presidents are very slim, Clinton got bj, Bush is totally crazy and Obama is like some clown... You don't need 4th slim in row

Phoenix 11-06-2012 05:09 AM

i wish they would televise obamas basketball game

DWB 11-06-2012 06:18 AM

Obama looks like hell worn over. I think there is something else going on behind the scenes that is stressing him out more than usual. He's not even a smooth talker with his teleprompter anymore. He's off and it shows. His head is clearly somewhere else.

Maybe the end of the world really is near. lol

gabe100 11-06-2012 07:57 AM

Mutt, I'll take the bet. Obama for the win.

Tom_PM 11-06-2012 08:37 AM

I think Romney has had his January vacation plans all decided for a few weeks now but we'll see I guess. Ohio could take a couple of weeks to reconcile.

michael.kickass 11-06-2012 08:42 AM

I don't think Romney has a real chance at winning.

Inter-Sex 11-06-2012 08:58 AM

Mutt,

Since you're the initiator, you should do 2:1 imo.

Option A : Obama wins selection, you send $500 to me.
Option B : Romney wins selection, I'll send to you $250

You'd take this bet ?
(paypal/paxum as options here)
