What sites do you have that cost 10 grand a month to host? That's a lot of bandwidth and servers.

Killswitch 11-07-2012 04:18 PM

$45 for two VPS' on Linode. Probably gonna be moving them all to AWS EC2 soon though.

That's quite a difference. What are you getting for $250?

All adult stuff on a server with Baddog

Most mainstream with Hostgator

Some lower-traffic mainstream with Dreamhost

Triple-A 11-07-2012 05:28 PM

$231 a month with iCertified but might have to upgrade within next few months, meaning more money but that's the way it goes with increased traffic :)

sicone 11-07-2012 05:37 PM

A little over $200 a month. A dedicated with Nat Net and a few small shared accounts.

wehateporn 11-07-2012 05:39 PM

$100 currently, but will upgrade to dedicated in the next year

MaDalton 11-07-2012 05:42 PM

about $900 a month

Robbie 11-07-2012 05:43 PM

I'm down to paying $1,599. 3 servers 100 Mbps package at Choopa

And, even though they are in New Jersey...my sites didn't go down for even one second during the storm. :)

Miguel T 11-07-2012 05:46 PM

Im paying like 100EUR a month

tfs 11-07-2012 05:48 PM

interesting point btw - you say your affiliate income went down - but how much did your hosting costs go down in comparison?

IllTestYourGirls 11-07-2012 05:57 PM

I finally got mine down to $2500/month.

When I had Ampland.Com and two other TGP's on two servers back in 2006 it was $3,000 a month

At that time I was just an affiliate only.

And my affiliate income was right at $1,000,000 profit a year. So it was really, really good.

But I saw the writing on the wall (thank God) at the end of 2006 and started planning on opening Claudia Marie's site. Opened that in May 2007 and as I watched my affiliate income decrease, I steadily watched CM's paysite income increase to offset it.

I did it just in the nick of time. If I'd waited another year it would have been a disaster.

johnuno11 11-07-2012 06:01 PM

I pay $6/month for unlimited everything.

HomerSimpson 11-07-2012 06:04 PM

about $500 - two dedis and couple of reseller accounts...

well - that also means that you dedicated your time and efforts towards something different than your affiliate work - which, when neglected, naturally shrinks.

i spoke to Nik from Crakmedia the first time in 2008 and i think he was mostly by himself at that time - look where he's now. As an affiliate.

but that wasnt the topic here..

Aquarius 11-07-2012 06:10 PM

Around $800

geedub 11-07-2012 06:15 PM

You should elaborate, was it:
a) you lowered your traffic/bandwidth
b) you were overpaying and you managed to cut price 16 times
c) a+b

AllAboutCams 11-07-2012 06:18 PM

$39 VPS with amerinoc

adult-help 11-07-2012 06:24 PM

$35 or so on VPS.

CYF 11-07-2012 06:46 PM

About $100 a month. That includes a dedicated server and a few small shared hosting accounts.

Mine is free as a perk of course but most customers pay about $7 a month with DWHS.

pornguy 11-07-2012 07:03 PM

I pay about 670$ a month for 4 boxes with uncapped Mbps

I haven't neglected it at all. Matter of fact I doubled and tripled my efforts on it. I still do.

I put in the hours every day on my affiliate work. For the paysite, it's generally a shoot every week or two. And then a couple of hours to edit a scene and update the site. The rest of the time it's all affiliate work. :(

porkbrothersdotnet 11-07-2012 07:43 PM

200 bucks 10TB of transfer

freecartoonporn 11-07-2012 07:50 PM

110 bucks.

Vapid - BANNED FOR LIFE 11-07-2012 09:09 PM

virtualizing everything.

x-rate 11-07-2012 09:16 PM

12.95$ hostgator unlimited account... hosting my adult stuff and mainstream

Vapid - BANNED FOR LIFE 11-07-2012 09:23 PM

upgrades loom.

pamon 11-07-2012 10:08 PM

Pretty safe to assume those paying $100+ per month are streaming or content producers. Affiliate related sites don't need that much server power uunless you are pushing big numbers.

epitome 11-07-2012 10:10 PM

Won't say how much but monthly cost really came down with CDN. It's amazing what you can push with a couple of origin servers if your code is extremely optimized.

hineken 11-07-2012 10:11 PM

$107/year just paid

shake 11-07-2012 10:14 PM

I used to have full racks at Sagonet, Swiftco and iWeb, now everything is just running on a few VPS accounts at linode/amerinoc/iweb about $500 a month. I'd like to get that under $100 which I should be able to do.

Three servers, each with 100 mbps? That's pretty good.

I am right under $1000 a month for one.
