LOS ANGELES?After deliberating for less than two hours, a Los Angeles jury has just found Ira Isaacs guilty on all five counts in his obscenity trial that has been going on since Monday of this week.

"I'm very disappointed with this outcome," Isaacs stated shortly after the verdicts were read, but he didn't find them surprising. In fact, earlier in the week, he had confided that he felt he had "long overstayed my 15 minutes of fame," and just wanted the trial to be over?an understandable reaction since this was his third time before a court and jury on these same issues.

The jury began deliberating the charges of producing, selling and shipping the four charged movies?Mako's First Time Scat, Hollywood Scat Amateurs 7 and 10, and Japanese Doggie 3 Way?at approximately 11:15 a.m., and at 1:05 p.m., let the court clerk know that they had reached a verdict.

The quick verdict was a slight surprise, because after deliberating for about 45 minutes the jury foreman sent two notes out to the judge, the first asking for a definition of the term "morbid," which had been used in the court's definition of "prurient interest," which had been defined for the jury as a "morbid, degrading and unhealthful interest in sex or excretion"; the second note asked whether the charged material had to fit all three descriptive terms in that definition.

The judge had called the parties back into the courtroom shortly after noon to discuss what his responses would be to the notes, and Isaacs' attorney Roger Jon Diamond had objected to the words Judge George H. King said he would use in answer to the first question, which were "shameful or unwholesome," both of which terms had been used to define the term in other Ninth Circuit cases. Diamond also objected to the judge's stated intent to tell the jurors that they could consider the terms in the prurient interest definition individually, since they themselves were the words used to define the term, and that the jury need not find that the material fit all three terms together.

However, just as the judge was about to call the jury back into the courtroom to deliver his answers, the clerk informed him that there was apparently a third question being prepared, so the judge held off answering the first two questions until the third question had been received.

After the parties had waited for about 20 minutes, however, the judge announced that in fact there was no third note, but that the jury had reached its verdicts without receiving answers to its previous notes.

Isaacs looked pensive as the jury filed into the courtroom shortly after 1 p.m., and was visibly shaken as the jury foreman read the "guilty" verdicts on the five counts, each of which could net him five years in (likely) a minimum security federal prison.

After the jury was polled and then dismissed with the court's thanks for having done a "very difficult job," Judge King tentatively set Isaacs' sentencing date for August 6, 2012 at 11 a.m., and the U.S. Justice Department prosecutor Damon King announced the government's intention to seize both Isaacs' master DVDs and the video equipment which he'd used to duplicate his movies for sale.

Diamond told AVN that he felt his client had several grounds for appeal, but a final decision as to whether Isaacs will appeal the verdicts has not yet been reached."

I am sure that ANY administration is going to go after the worst of the worst. If you're doing SCAT or other things that most in this industry would concede you probably shouldn't be doing, that's on you. Not all porn is created equal. Most people who've been around this industry for any period of time know what is, and is not, crossing the line.

If not, they should hire a lawyer, or buy some lube for their cornhole.

California did not prosecute, the UNITED STATES JUSTICE DEPARTMENT did! As the article CLEARLY states, Eric Holder is the Attorney General of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA, NOT the attorney General of the State of CAlifornia!

The Justice Department of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA came after the guy THREE times, until a conviction was obtained. Eric Holder's position is part of the Executive branch of the government of the UNITED STATES and the head of the Executive branch is of course, none other than President Barack Hussein Obama, who could have simply made a phone call and told Holder to drop the thing had the President any real interest in doing so.

Movies about scat differ just how from movies about anal, cum sucking, double penetration, just to mention a couple? Someone, someplace is going to find something offensive!

It would make no sense what so ever for an elected representative in the US to openly support or be friendly to our industry. Even though we are all aware that it is more likely than not that the vast majority of Americans are either porn consumers, porn lovers, are tolerant of porn or do not give a shit about it one way or another we are still on the fringe of society.

It does not matter if its a sweet solo girl that only touches herself while smiling cutely at the camera or a 15 dude bukkake gangbang fuck fest with whips and chains and amputee midgets swinging from black guys' cock in the background... its all porn in the minds of many and would be electoral suicide to anyone up for office that might say 'yeah, I watch porn. It's entertaining sometimes'

America is so repressed and so hung up on sex that it would be the kiss of death. The best we can hope for is a tacit indifference to what we do.

Obviously, the Obama administration is not going to be indifferent to porn, as this prosecution neatly shows.

You are correct about American hangups about sex but the point is that those who think they are safer under the Obama Administration are deluding themselves I think. By dissolving the task force and relying in local United States Attorneys (Which are still FEDERAL!), the Obama Administration cleverly distances itself from apparent direct involvement in porn prosecutions, at least in the public eye, while continuing the same old repressive agenda.

I find it amusing that so many were concerned about a possible Romney presidency but have ignored the fox already in the henhouse!

However, most of those being "persecuted" in these trolling type threads are people who are dressing their models up like underage girls (Max Hardcore), doing scat (that Isaac jew), fucking animals, or extreme BDSM (Black).

Anyone using the "community standards" as a guideline can easily see that any of those examples would be not approved by most of the same general public. While I concede that society on the norm is more accepting of general mainstream or vanilla type of porn. I doubt any of that stuff would pass that guideline in a U.S. court of law. Whether the models are willing or not.

There is some level of common sense involved here. If you are doing this extreme stuff as mentioned above, which most lawyers would advise you against, then you have EARNED your sentence so lube up your cornhole.
