He's having a hell of a year. Good, smart athlete there!

J. Falcon 11-22-2012 06:42 PM

I will go out on a limb and say it.

By the time RG3 retires, he will have been the Michael Jordan of quaterbacks.

L-Pink 11-22-2012 06:45 PM

unless he takes a big hit running

Mutt 11-22-2012 06:46 PM

he is great and will have a Hall of Fame career barring injuries.

i'd still take Luck over him by a hair.

not a chance. He's not a pocket passer & will eventually end up getting hurt like all running qb's. The nfl isn't college.

He's not a pocket passer?

8 TD passes in the last 2 games.

He is deadly accurate. A QB who can run but is also an excellent passer.

OldJeff 11-23-2012 08:08 AM

Current Michael Vick, check back in 2-3 years after defenses get to really look him over. Incredibly talented, great athlete, etc.etc. But let's not crown him the next Peyton Manning quite yet.

Chris 11-23-2012 08:40 AM

cant be that mad - rg3 is from my town so glad to see he is doing well

Put down the crack pipe and take off the rose colored glasses, homie. They were saying the EXACT SAME THING about Cam "The Scam" Newton last season, and look at him now. The problem with rookie quarterbacks is that there isn't enough pro film on them for defensive coordinators to gameplan against. It's more or less hit or miss. RGIII is a great athlete and has the smarts to make it (I actually feel bad putting him in the same category as Fig Newton since he's a fucking moron). But during RGIII's sophomore campaign, things will change and he'll be forced to be more cerebral. He won't be able to rely on his legs as much as he does this year and if he continues to take the hits he's taken this season, he'll have a VERY SHORT career.

With that said, he's definitely in the top 3 for offensive rookies this season with Luck and the Tampa RB hahahahahaha. But in the long run, Luck will be more likely to have a HOF career than RGIII. However, if he keeps up doing what he's doing, he'll be out of the league in 2-3 years tops.

Watch next season when they try to turn him into a pocket passer and how far from grace he'll fall. I've seen it happen time and time again. He's a good kid, smart, and very athletic. But his undoing will be his coaches trying to protect him rather than letting him go out and play his game. Which at this point is backyard ball. :2 cents:

Rob 11-23-2012 08:56 AM

You should feel bad about comparing RG3 to Newton or Vick or Vince Young. Unlike any of those guys, RG3 is a natural leader. He is also extremely accurate and smarter, plus without the obvious character flaws of the above mentioned quaterbacks.

I said I felt bad for making the comparison. RGIII is a good character guy...no doubt about that. But his reckless style of play does remind me of Vick when he was with Atlanta. RGIII isn't as well rounded athletically at QB than Vick or Newton (they both have better arms, bigger, etc.), but his intangibles is what makes him a better all around player and leader.

But HOF...at least let the guy get through his freshman year before you start to throw confetti. :winkwink:

Us fans in Tampa thought Cadillac Williams was a future HOF. Now we call him Pontiac Williams and is out of the league. Even though he is in the HOF for breaking the rookie rushing record - or at least his shoes are. :thumbsup

Actually he seems to be both mobile and a good pocket passer. He definitely shows promise for the Skins' future, but I won't go so far as to start touting him as the second coming or the next Michael Jordan of football etc quite yet. Time will tell.

Let's just see if he can get them into the playoffs, or string 3 wins together, then maybe see how he does next year before tossing golden confetti at him like some are doing.

I'm sticking to my black qb rule on this one. RG3 wont be great. If I'm wrong within 4 seasons please call me on it.

Lester Burnham 11-23-2012 01:36 PM

Running and mobile QBs are the future. They've already taken over college football, and it is just a matter of time before this happens in the NFL.

Keep in mind that "running QB" does not mean "black QB" (a common misconception). Steve Young could have played RB in the NFL, and he had mad success in The League (same with Elway and Tarkenton). And look at the most recent draft picks and future pics. Predominantly mobile QBs. E.g., Jake Locker (runs a 4.6 .40), Ryan Tannehill (played WR at A&M), RG3, Christian Ponder, Cam Newton. In the future you have Manziel, Geno Smith (who is actually more of a pocket passer but he can run), EJ Manuel, etc.

The days of Drew Bledsoe type QBs are coming to an end. You'll still have them, but going forward, most QBs drafted high will be athletic and from the spread offense.

Some food for thought, sort of. The Redskins are the only team to ever win a Superbowl with a black QB. If they can build a decent team around this guy, I see multiple rings in his future.

It's depressing being a Cowboys fan. From that tool Jerry Jones, to that Mark Sanchez wannabe Romo, to that offensive coordinator masquerading as a Head coach Garrett, to that pussy cat Felix the cat Jones who runs like Garfield, the Cowboys are a mess. But one thing can always cheer the fans up....

Actually Newton's not having as bad a year as it seems to someone that doesn't really follow the Panthers that much. He's on track to still be within 200 yards passing and 70 yards rushing from last year's numbers. The big thing down is his touchdowns. The Panther's main problems are the offensive line and coaching, not Newton. It's becoming more obvious by the game that this staff is in over its head. The anemic offense pretty much boils down to their inability to get the running game going(the pair of backs Stewart and Williams are on track to halve their numbers from last year), some of which is from the offensive line, and some is also from playcalling. Will agree though that he does still have some maturing to do.

EliteWebmaster 11-23-2012 10:24 PM

Something about Cam makes him unlikeable. And especially Vick but hating Vick is easy because he's a dog killer but was never impressed with his "skills". Cam is Vick 2.0 It's really simple, they are not QBs. They are RB's masquerading as QB's. Same with McNabb. Most black QBs are of the same "running back QB" variety.

RG3 is different though, his mindset is throw first, run if absolutely necessary. He's like Steve Young who was one of the best scrambling QBs ever. That's why he's getting so much hype, it's well deserved. He's Intelligent, and he's nothing like other black QBs aside from being black. His game is different.

I'll still take a prototypical QB like Luck over RG3 anyday though. Is RG3 exciting? Yes, and he makes football fun to watch but if you want to win a superbowl, you want a prototypical QB like Luck, Manning, and Big Ben. Generals win you battles in war, these guys are Field Generals.

I went to a University of Oregon football game this year, expecting cheerleaders that looked like they were grunge band groupies or Occupy protesters. Boy was I was wrong. Hottest cheerleaders in college football (I had my doubts, but they are the real deal). +1 for Cheerleader scholarships. Enjoy:

Bleh. You single out one picture which in hindsight I shouldn't have posted because that handful isn't hot. I stand by most of the rest. I posted them when I was dead tired, but I know there's more variety in the Eagles cheerleaders and that many of them are hotter. Most of the Cowboys' cheerleaders are the typical blonde bimbo stereotype. And Christ, watch the show on CMT, they all fit the stereotype. Where's the Asians? Where's the black girls? Where's the variety? Most of those girls are interchangable. Hot...perhaps, but boring in the long run. You pop through the roster of the 2012-2013 Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders, and you're getting something different everytime. (http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/ch...rs/roster.html)

Go fuck yourself with your cookie cutter blonde cheerleaders. :2 cents:
