Follow Up to Your Declined CCBill Purchase

Thank you for your interest in making a purchase from http://xxxxxx.com/. For your protection, your transaction has been declined by CCBill but may still be eligible to be approved following some additional action on your part.

this is bullshit

Hmmm... I got similar e-mail from someone who wanted to join my site - he sent me e-mail with a complaint, that he got this message:

Thank you for your interest in making a purchase from http://mydirtydrawings.com/. For your protection, your transaction has been declined by CCBill but may still be eligible to be approved following some additional action on your part.

Please call our Consumer Support Department at 888.596.9279, or the International toll free number below if outside of the U.S., to proceed with the process if you have not completed your purchase elsewhere.

I've had conversation on mail with the same guy - who told me that he was able to join other sites with no problem / Verotel using sites/.

However I spoke with the ccbill's support and got this:

Unfortunately I can't confirm any details with Verotel, he will need to contact our consumer support department to verify why it has received a soft decline from our billing system. I apologize but I don't have any other details regarding his transaction attempt and contacting our consumer team via email or by phone will resolve this issue.

As i mentioned before ccbil declined my card because i used a different email as before. I just can not believe this. So many people have several email addresses. I really wonder how much sale i lose because of stupid shit like this. I understand scrubbing is needed but this just too much.

Dirty F 11-25-2012 01:36 PM

Non ccbill related. Just 2 hours ago i tried to buy some domains with my brand new Visa card. Got declined. Why ffs?

DWB 11-25-2012 01:37 PM

Yea, this extra step is a sales killer I'm afraid. I'm in the porn industry and I don't even feel comfortable calling a billing company to talk about a porn purchase, so I can't imagine what some married dude is thinking when asked to call him. Ain't gonna happen, especially while the wife and kids are sleeping in the other room and he's trying to rub one off quietly.

IMHO, this pushes more people away from paying for porn, which is the last thing a billing company needs to be doing right now. It also takes the anonymity away from it all, which is the whole reason for the popularity of internet porn. Yes, you have to give your info, but you shouldn't have to talk to someone about it.

*sigh*

Who wants to call anyone, for any reason, and discuss why their credit card was declined for BlackTrannyWhackers.com or BabysitterFuckers.com?

signupdamnit 11-25-2012 01:42 PM

What pisses me off the most is that, although they will undoubtedly deny it, it's probably being done to keep overall chargeback rates down so that the "Bros" can bang cards and put through ridiculous pre checked cross sales. The high volume Bros get to have 3-5% CB rates and it gets made up on the back of the little guys who are scrubbed like mad to even it out.

And I don't care what anyone says some transactions are being batched where affiliates aren't getting credit for them on the same day or possibly even week or month which they were made. There is no way I can go three weeks with one sponsor without getting a sale and then get four sales in one day from that sponsor and then again go two weeks again with no sales and then get three sales from the same sponsor from different sites on same day. That pattern tells me batching has to be occurring.

I generally like CCBill but I can tell that SOMETHING is up.

That's really stupid. People don't always keep the same email address for long either. Especially the one they give to porn companies because of the tendency to get spammed. Sometimes the incompetence makes you wonder how certain companies made it as far as they did.

Yup, it's perfectly normal to have several emails for many reasons. Rejecting a sign up because of that is simply ridiculous.

Out of 45 days one day has four sales, another day has three sales. All the other 43 days have zero sales. This is only for one sponsor. Not for all sponsors. That's not a normal pattern. And it only seems to happen with this sponsor. To me it looks like their transactions are being batched.

That might be the sponsor, sure. Maybe they manually check every transaction before they let it show up in the stats. As you say it only happens with this sponsor. So i don't see how this is ccbill related.

pimpmaster9000 11-25-2012 02:39 PM

and you are not only losing money because of over aggressive srcubbing but also the payment does not cascade further but stops with this "transaction declined for your protection" e-mail...not only do they over scrubb but they also end your cascade....

That's possible, there's also a chance these are 'Bonus Sales' from the sponsor; they've seen how much traffic you've sent, then they reward you. :2 cents:

all the shit Frank talks I will agree with him on this one till the end. I have been doing this shit over ten years and with the traffic you me or 99% have you are going to get all kinds of weird shit that you can call BS but you are talking about .000000001% of joins and think you can use that as a guide is fucking nuts, Goto the store and look at candy bar sales. Monday 17 and Friday 98 HOLY FUCK whoever worked on Monday doesn't know how to ring shit up LOL

Dirty F 11-25-2012 07:28 PM

What shit do i talk? I never talk shit.

BIGTYMER 11-25-2012 07:28 PM

Total sale killer.

Thankfully CCBill has never declined me and I join a lot of sites.

Can the sponsor really manually approve affiliate transactions on a CCBill affiliate program like that? I didn't know that. I had thought once the customer pays the affiliate is automatically credited per the current affiliate program settings. It is just that sponsor but it looks like they are CCBill only without any cascade (https://bill.ccbill.com/jpost/signup.cgi) otherwise I would suspect an oddity with the cascade posting. I've been noticing the pattern with the sponsor for some time just not asdefined this time around. I guess I should shut up and do a test signup and see when it appears in my stats and whether I get declined or see this verification crap. :/

Exactly this. Especially while ccbill are waiting for the guy not to call, cascade goes out the window.

Lace 11-25-2012 09:31 PM

Explains my ccbill numbers the last few months. Kind of funny how things just die out of no where...but it's probably my traffic that has been the same for nearly 8 years. -sigh-

nikki99 11-27-2012 05:34 AM

this is because we are indians and ccbill doesn't like poor people
