To all the Husbands in this Board
http://img4.coastalliving.com/i/2006...-x.jpg?500:500
I saw some drama a few hours ago. I saw a guy walk out of a relationship. He pointed out that everything about their house was what she wanted. How many couples do you see actually choosing stuff together? And how many times do you just see the guy going along with what she wants? Why is it in every home where there are couples, there are whole acres of things belonging to women that serve no practical purpose beyond taking up space? The wife hogs every square in a home that serves a partnership. Do you agree or disagree? |
why you open so many shitty threads?
|
its called a man cave
|
I disagree..........................with your avi!! lol
You must be gay. Have you not heard the saying HAPPY WIFE HAPPY LIFE??? Give us chocolate, listen to us rant every now and then (even if you're not really listening), don't let us catch you looking at other women, if we ask you what you think of our friends ALWAYS say something negative about them (I don't care if it's Heidi Klum- you better call her fat b/c if you say a friend is attractive, your woman will NEVER forget that.....act like you're disgusted by the thought of her friends being hot...trust me); call us beautiful every chance you get, acknowledge when we make changes like new outfits, hairstyles, etc. and accept the fact that you crap is always going to look like crap next to ours so just donate that crap to Goodwill and let the woman decorate the house. Get yourself a man cave and move on with your life. You're not gonna win buddy!! lol If you do the above, you're almost guaranteed to get an unlimited supply of BJs. HAPPY WIFE HAPPY LIFE, indeed! |
My Fiancee is an Interior Designer so I let her choose everything for our house. She always asks my opinion too but she knows me well enough to know what I like as well. Example: She designed my entire basement for me and knew exactly what I'd like, down to the colour of my pool table, she knew it all. I guess it's easy when you have a professional do it :)

it's not like the world didn't warn us our entire natural life
|
I let my wife decorate the house simply because she is way better at it. It would be ugly if I did it. As for taking up more space. This is obvious as she has more clothes than me. Same with shoes, etc. Also, most men just go along with their wives and agree with everything because they simply don't care either way.

*shrug*
My guy and I decorated together, and ish we couldn't agree on was decided by coin toss and thumb wars. We chose the color palette through an assortment of paint chips he picked up before we even moved in. It helps that we both have our own bedrooms that are totally our own...mine is bright purple and filled with art and his is boring white/brown and sparse. The rest of the house is a compromise. That reflects our relationship...I think couples engaged in power struggles have issues in many areas, and their shared homes are probably a reflection of that. lol at the picture in the OP, though. Our cats would use that coffee table as a giant scratching post and the glass fish would be in pieces on the floor. I'll take the wine and the view, though |

nah, we switch back and forth, usually sleep in his room because I use my room for cam shows and I often work after he falls asleep. It's about having our own individual 'spaces', not about sleeping seperately
|
lots of chicks do the same, just go with whatever the guy wants because otherwise it causes friction. luckily my girl and i were on the same page for nearly everything about a home. though the odd time she will want to decorate it with something a bit gay.
|
Man up and tell her that this will not work. Why wait to blow up and break up over something she might not have even noticed?
|
Stay single my friend.
|
My ex did choose most things but that's because I dont really care about it and the home did look much better than if I had chosen the stuff.
|
My girl does everything...
I have no interest in arguing with her. |

In my house we choose everything together. It's OUR house, not her house or my house. We've never fought about anything, let alone what decorations. Financial things are my department though, so I do keep her within a range of cost per project.
You know what they say though, "Happy wife, happy life". I don't think most argue with that. hehe. |

26 years together and she is still the damm boss in the house no matter what I say :winkwink: |
My girl has overrun out house, that much is for sure. I recently cleared out a room to set up with all my gear, and I was quickly relegated to a corner of the room and she has taken the rest of it.
I am just along for the ride. |

She likes/needs/craves walking in the house and surrendering herself. You would be surprised how many women I've met that feel this way. Also many woman love being used and treated like a total slut which falls into the submissive category. . |

women are made for breeding, everything else is just a by product (including making the nest a comfy and neat place - its their nature so dont fuck with it)

I'm not married but have a live-in girlfriend. As long as she stays out of my office, my garage, and my back patio, everything here is fine. And I get to pick the TVs that go in the bedroom and living room. I dont care too much about the rest.
She has to compete with my Parrot for the living room anyway. |
Hm, not here. He chose the couches, I choose the wall colours. We choose the art together. We tend to agree on most things, so it's not a big issue. And I hate clutter and knick knacks.
|
@L-Pink, I definitely don't think your arrangement is unusual, but I think the reverse (Domme chica/sub male) occurs just as frequently. I imagine at times the (sub) men in those relationships are less likely to admit to it in general company, as it goes against cultural steretypes, but both types of relationships are common.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with either, obviously. Neither are my cup of tea as a 'lifestyle' but I think anything that works for the two individuals involved is cool. |

I definitely had to claim my man cave though, which is my home office. That is the one place that she has tried to sneak a few things in here and there, but I block her on every try. She even tried to use the kid a few weeks ago. I came home to a 4 x 4 ft pink cloth dollhouse/tent thingy in the middle of my office floor. After a 30 second silent stand-off, she sighed, folded up the 4 x 4 ft pink cloth dollhouse/tent thingy, picked up the kid and moved their little party to the living room. (And yes, I did join them in the little tent a short while after. Playtime with the kid is always fun. Just as long as it's not in my office.) |
why even fucking share?
