Goodbye, Yahoo Chat

Quote:

In order to focus on providing great new features for Yahoo! Messenger, we are discontinuing some Messenger services, including our public chat rooms on December 14. We know that some long-term Yahoo! Messenger users still enjoy these topic-based communities, however we feel that by embracing the modern technologies and platforms available today, Yahoo! will uncover better ways to foster meaningful communities and connections with the people you care about.

Yeah me too. Man those were the days! Didnt even need a bot to talk and could pull in $30k a month just sitting idle in a room with a female profile.

And people wonder why I had all those computers back then :winkwink:

I quit yahoo chat a long time ago .. But we have to agree that once it helps us a lot ..

seeandsee 12-06-2012 06:56 AM

y chat, old times

CT-Content 12-06-2012 07:10 AM

Spamming the rooms with your URLs and numerous fake accounts and bots is only one of the reasons Yahoo has decided to terminate chat.
Same applied to MSN chat and their numerous selection of rooms.

Spam ruins everything.

RyuLion 12-06-2012 08:03 AM

Bye, I won't miss you..

Sophie Delancey 12-06-2012 08:47 AM

I had no idea chat was still a thing. That is quite a blast from the past, though.

O MARINA 12-06-2012 08:49 AM

I haven't logged into Yahoo messenger for at least 3 years.

pornguy 12-06-2012 08:54 AM

Yahoo took away the user-created room several years ago out of fear that pedophiles were using them to lure in kids or other pedos for pic & video trading. A few years after that, regular chat moved from the java based version that would load in a web page to an app that ran inside of yahoo messenger only.

Sometimes I wonder who is more insane; you sure give Johnny a run for his money.

PIRIOD.

fuzebox 12-06-2012 05:54 PM

Shit, going to have to come up with another way to make money :(

babymaker 12-06-2012 08:22 PM

Damn, I miss Yahoo in general, they really self destructed that company, it's little more than a blog now :( Most of my time was spent on Yahoo between groups and chat when I first got online seriously, and also lead me to becoming an affiliate and getting into the biz when I realized if I could have yahoo groups with 25k members there must be a way to make money with it somehow, then I found out about affiliate marketing. But Yahoo was great just to have fun and meet people one of the few places I found real people and not just fakes.

Yeah, one machine. Thats why I said I had all those computers.

VenusBlogger can come in and post the rack of machines I had. He has already posted it on other forums.

babymaker 12-06-2012 08:49 PM

haha yahoo interests on the yahoo profiles could pull a ton of traffic to a yahoo profile, some i had set up for cams fake cam girls :) Worked nice. Logged in to test one one day and got bombarded lol it was insane but filtered out the losers to cam sites and got my a mansion in beverly hills with 50k mo allowance lol, had no girl that looked like the one I was using to go collect tho, just wanted to see how good i was :D

SilentKnight 12-06-2012 08:53 PM

I left Yahoo behind years ago when they did away with Clubs and merged them into Groups.

We owned a 30,000-member Yahoo Club (ExtremeBondageFantasies) with over a million hits...and it died not long after the merger.

RyanEagle 12-06-2012 09:12 PM

It's not so great anymore, but it's still sad to see an old legend go.

GAMEFINEST 12-06-2012 09:26 PM
