The feds cannot afford to let this fly. Imposition of federal law will be a test of federal power and it will happen. Obama has said that he does not support medical marijuana while at the same time giving federal prosecutors discretion in what to prosecute.

This situation will not last for long because Obama cannot afford to allow the clear threat to federal power to stand.

Obama ran for his first term claiming he would not go after States on Medi-juana but that turned out to be false.

We shall see.

i understand many weed smokers in WA did not want it to pass.
the law also included a definition of whats considered DUI limits, in other words you get a DUI if you have very small amount in your system.

I have no clue. I'm sure that when you are busted for smoking pot...they then up the charges when they find out how much you have in your stash. Most pot smokers I know keep a good supply.

Just like you might keep a 5 pound bag of sugar in your cupboard. You don't want to go out and buy a cup of sugar every time you need it to cook something.

Intention to distribute. Otherwise they could not bust real drug dealers (because they would claim they keep stash just for themselves)

My point is that it all has to do with smoking pot. It should all be legal. Growing, selling, buying and smoking.

That's all I'm trying to say. The U.S. incarcerates more people than any country on the face of the Earth. A lot of it is drug related...which at it's foundation is the govt. telling you what you can and can't put in your own body.

Total bullshit in my humble opinion.

It can be legal in the state. ITs legal in Calif, but to the FEDS its not. They will hit up
Washington soon, like they did Los Angeles. They go after the property owners. Tell thell the landlords we will take your buildings. Also the come thru take all your shit, weed, money, then want you to pay sales tax, when they took the money. This shit happen to me and over 40 shop owners and still going on now.

I understand and I salute federals for making the right thing (I am against drugs being legal).
And federal law is higher and should be higher than state law.

But wait! After he was elected the first time, he said he wasn't going to hassle MMJ Dispensaries. ie. He's pot friendly. Then his justice department conducted more raids than Bush II.

I'm not gonna argue the point with you.

It's just beyond me why you would want people to be criminals for enjoying themselves. People have gotten high in different ways since the beginning of mankind. All the law does is make people into criminals. It doesn't stop anybody from doing what they choose to do.

If a person chooses to not smoke pot, that is fine with me. (I don't smoke it because it puts me to sleep) But I don't think that person or the govt. should be able to rule other people's personal decisions.

I'm for freedom.

Why have any states at all then. I guess we should just be The United State of America. Let the Feds handle everything. They do such a great job of everything they control now. Why not everything?

Its either the government in Washington DC, o "government" in state capital. I mean all the countries in the world has governments. States are like countries within country, and states have their own "governments".
The only difference is that these governments of states are closer to the people and better know problems and issues of that specific region. But in that case you could go even one level deeper and have "governments" of counties within state...

And why not? Most countries of the world have one government, they do not have "countries within country" and they have no problems. I mean if "countries within country" is such a good idea why don't other countries adapt this model?
Like I said to Robbie - either way you have government, either in DC or in capital of the state.

I wasn't arguing that. I'm arguing that it's NOT the govt.'s place to rule your personal life. We are theoretically "free". (I know, I know...)

How in the heck did we get to a point in society where we ALLOW the govt. to rule over what we can and can't put in our own bodies of our own free will?
