We saw him last year, he did a good show, and we had a good time. If you like this kind of stuff, you should try and see Terry Fator live.
|
I got to see him a few years ago. He does a bit of non-puppet stand-up and then the crowd goes wild as the puppets come out.
Since it's Christmas time, I'm sure you'll get some Achmed Carols :) Enjoy the show! ~Emily |

Fuck. I was in Paris with my wife years back and went to Mouline Rouge. This guy was on stage for what felt like an eternity. I do not find him to be funny. There is nothing funny to me about quippy remarks from a puppet, continually interrupting the puppeteer with predictable comments. Weird, creepy and his mouth moves when he does it act, which is distracting.
Anyway, it was like a year later and we went there again. I remember thinking only one thought "at least that fucking idiot will not be there". Show starts... OMFG! He comes out on stage, exact same act. Line for Line. I wanted to punch our waitress. I tried drinking enough to make him funny but it didn't happen. Instead, spent the time drunk with a Serbian couple talking about their distinct lack of vowels and how unfunny Jeff Dunham is in any language and to any nationality. I wept when years later he was on HBO all the time. I wept for comedy and its sad state. |
Je fah fah, Dun haaaaaaaaaaaam....

specials are always great. don't know if i could take 2 hours of him though.

I caught a Terry Fator show in Vegas once. Dont see how any ventriloquist could ever touch his skill.

Give Jeff Dunham some props. He's the highest gro$$ing touring comedian.
http://www.therichest.org/entertainm...aid-comedians/ Ventriloquism is a rough niche for a comedian, its golden days are over. (RIP: Edgar Bergen, Paul Winchell, Shari Lewis). It takes a little more skill, i.e., you have to be able to throw your voice and... you have to spend money on your dummies/puppets. Think about it, in regular stand-up, you only have to be funny (or not). You don't have to invest hours learning ventriloquy or shelling out $ for your sidekick characters. Also recommended: Tom Crowl, Jay Johnson (The Two and Only) |
I fucking can't stand that worthless blob of shit. I wish his dolls would do us a trick and separate his head from his neck.
