Google Search iPhone App
 

I'm not usually impressed by shiny new pieces of app-tech, but the Google Search app for the iPhone is really slick. It interprets your voice input as you say it (rather than afterward, like Siri), and it returns some really interesting results. I just asked it:

"Who is Michael Jordan?"
"What is the address of Yankee Stadium?"
"When does the new Star Trek movie come out?"
"Show me pictures of Grumpy Cat"
"What is Wikipedia?"

The presentation of the answers impressed me! Very slick, very useful.

Will be funny if Google Now advances so far past Siri that Apple just bakes it in and does away with her.

Ha! Yes, wouldn't it? The problem is that Google Search doesn't have access to the core functionality of the phone. i.e., it can't text someone for you, set a calendar appointment, etc. This is one of the biggest things Siri does that's helpful. Search is actually a small component of why I use Siri (or, in my case, a version of Siri for jailbroken devices).

It's gimp'd on iOS. But I use but more than I have ever used Siri.

iPhone 5 is jail broken?

Can you have 2 iPhones taking to each other and asking questions ?

Dunno, I don't use one, nor would I want to .. too many issues with the quality. The 4-series (especially the 4S) is all I need.
