google now tighten on adult related image search
stuff happening last 24 hours
query must be MORE explicit to get results? http://productforums.google.com/foru...ch/WIPzdBq6E4Y |
interesting.... when I type "blowjob" in google images now I just see humor.. when I type in "anal sex" I just see humor... but when I type in "anal sex xxx" you get the good ole hardcore images that used to pop up with out the xxx added on...

Here's how to disable SafeSearch:
Visit the Google Preferences page. In the "SafeSearch Filtering" section, select Do not filter my search results. Click Save Preferencese. http://support.google.com/websearch/...=en&answer=510 Modify SafeSearch setting Many users prefer not to have adult sites included in search results. Google's SafeSearch screens for sites that contain explicit sexual content and removes them from your search results. No filter is 100 percent accurate, but SafeSearch should eliminate most inappropriate material. You can choose from among three SafeSearch settings: Moderate filtering excludes most explicit images from Google Images results but doesn't filter ordinary web search results. This is your default SafeSearch setting; you'll receive moderate filtering unless you change it. Strict filtering applies SafeSearch filtering to all your search results (i.e. both image search and ordinary web search). No filtering, as you've probably figured out, turns off SafeSearch filtering completely. To change your SafeSearch setting, tap the gear icon on the Google Search app home screen. Turn SafeSearch Off to stop filtering adult content from search results. Note: The 'Moderate' setting filters explicit images only from your search results. The 'Strict' setting filters both explicit text and explicit images. |
hmm sucks

Why would this be a bad thing? If a surfer is looking for porn on Google images, they're going to find it. If anything, it's going to help a lot with image longtail results.. :upsidedow

And for some reason this caused the google image search traffic on several of my sites to spike.

Looks like they've removed the unfiltered search option for image searches, but only in the US.

Google shows a bunch of porn usually in the results. There is that "safe" option for less porn. Interesting...

|
I think its right to do this safer for children google should only show porn/adult with safe search turned off
|
icm are trying to tell people to add 'xxx' to their search queries to find porn, or go straight to search.xxx (i think)... saw it on some non adult site (cant remember what one) today
googles change will no doubt help them get people used to adding xxx to searchqueries |
