Got A Teaching Offer In Thailand
I have been offered a once in a lifetime job to teach English in Thailand. It was totally out of the blue for me and was really taken by surprise with the offer. I was told, I have the option to teach in either Pattaya or Chachoengsao. It has always been a dream of mine to go to Asian and this may very well be the only chance I get. Now here's the catch, I have to pay for the airfare, apartment myself, and they don't have the money in their budget. I would also have to leave in the next 45 days. I just don't have that kind of money to pull out of nowhere to leave that soon.
This is where I was looking for some help. I just don't have that kind of money saved at this moment. If I knew about this in advance, sure I could save. This is where I'm asking for help. I'm not a person that ask for help like this, but this is a once in a lifetime chance I don't want to miss out on. I've always loved Asian and can't wait to see other cultures and working with the kids there. I'm hoping people can spread the word. Anything can help, twitter, Facebook, any blogs you go to. Any and everything you can do would help. Here's the link to the campaign http://igg.me/p/290876/x/1117493 Sorry, I know it's not adult, but wanted to get the word out there. |
teaching english overseas is not once in a lifetime opportunity, jobs like this are common a dime a dozen, you even get good pay and apartment + more
next time better story please |
What will you do if you get bitten by a dog or fall off a scooter or get your drink spiked at a bar ?
Too many people without a reliable source of funds end up in Thailand each year and cause themselves and others problems as a result. This is not a once in a lifetime opportunity, there are thousands of teaching jobs in Thailand for qualified people. Wait until you have saved an appropriate amount of money and don't put yourselves and others at risk of problems if you fail to meet your expenses while there. |
You're begging for money because you don't have enough for the airfare so you can be yet another sex mongering english teacher at the bottom of the barrel in Thailand? WTF :helpme

Bangkok sounds like “bang cock.” Some might think that is funny. Anyway, to get the job, you have to pay for many things yourself. That is like saying, “you have to be rich if you want to become richer.” It’s hard to start from nothing or almost nothing. They always keep talking about making the correct investments. With the right investments, you really could get a nice rate or return like 20%, 50% or 75%. You can put in your time, effort, hard work, learning abilities, knowledge of languages and whatever else. They tell you to buy airplane ticket, apartment and other things. Thinking about money, people that inherit much money are really at an advantage. The way these economies are designed, everybody just wants to get the label “rich businessman.” Good luck. It is wise to teach languages.

I'l also question why the OP is using a video belonging to i-to-i in his campaign to raise funds. I am sure i-to-i would not have sanctioned that, therefore that's a case of copyright infringement for the purposes of gaining pecuniary advantage. Not very cool.

There are companies and teaching institutions around the world, in a constant need of native English speakers. Quote:

I highly suggest you reach out to people who know you best: friends, family, organizations, church groups. Perhaps they would be willing to pitch in to your "Mission" of teaching poor children/people English in a 2nd/3rd world country. Good luck. Thailand is a beautiful country. |

Typical salary for an english teacher in thailand is about 30K baht per month (around $1k US) or even less if it's a shitty school in the provinces. Which is probably more than a typical Thai makes but not a very fun life at all. If you teach at a good private school then you're looking at 50-60K baht ($2K US) which is a decent standard of living provided you don't want to do expensive things in your spare time. A friend of mine teaches at the Anglo-Singapore school in Bangkok ($5-10K USD a year per child primary / intermediate school) and gets paid 50K baht / month. Corporate trainers can make more but obviously the competition is very high and one would need experience. In any case english teachers are the bottom of the barrel of farang society in Thailand. Thailand is full of degenerate sex monger english teachers who decided that scraping together a subsistence living as an english teacher was a way to keep their dream whore mongering thailand holiday alive. |
