27 reported killed in Newton, Conn., school shooting
NEWTOWN, Conn. -- A lone gunman killed 27 people at an elementary school here, including 18 children, in a terrifying early Friday morning shooting spree.
The Associated Press and local media reported the shooter, an unidentified adult male, was also dead at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Two handguns were recovered at the scene. Mayor Mark Boughton said several victims had been taken to local hospitals. Groups of students ? some crying, some holding hands ? were being escorted away from the school by their teachers. Some witnesses reported of up to 100 shots. The shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School is the latest in a series mass shootings in the U.S. this year, including Tuesday's assault by a lone gunman at a Portland, OR., shopping mall that left two dead and one wounded. Sandy Hook is in a residential, wooded neighborhood about 90 minutes north of New York City. It has has 39 teachers and about 650 students. A reverse 911 call went out to parents warning of an incident. Parents were being reunited with children. But, NBC Connecticut reported, police were searching the area behind the school with guns drawn. Terese Lestik was relieved to find her five year old daughter, Eva, unharmed. "I heard a boom-boom,'' Eva said of the gunshots she heard earlier. "I'm horrified,'' said Terese Lestik. "I just pray for whoever is hurt." Alexis Wasik, a third-grader at the school, said police were checking everybody inside the school before they were escorted to the firehouse. She said she heard shots and saw her former nursery school teacher being taken out of the building on a stretcher, but didn't know if the woman had been shot. "We had to walk with a partner," said Wasik, 8. One child leaving the school said that there was shattered glass everywhere. A police officer ran into the classroom and told them to run outside and keep going until the reach the firehouse, The Hartford Courant reported. Dozens of state troopers are on the scene assisting local police. Heavily armed police gathered in front of the school around 10:45 a.m., and a number of stretchers were set up. full news... |
18 children killed as last reported.... After I read the story I looked on CNN for the stories of the 18 children saved last night because their parents had shot burglars with their after market AR-15s and for the tales of how the militias protected us from the government
thugs roaming around Kirkland, WA, but didn't find any. I must have missed them. Maybe the NRA can start pointing those out. Grow up America |
Fuck that guy! Piece of fucking shit. So pissed right now. Children are innocent

wtf is wrong with these people

people will never outlive this, the parents will suffer their losses for life. goddamit i hope there is an afterlife where this prick will get his share. |
If only the children were allowed to conceal carry, this would have only resulted in one casualty.

So 5 months of "great news stories" that equate to 1, 1-hour incident. Challenging ratio to defend don't you think? Actually it's impossible Thanks for the page though, I am going to analyze a year and come up with other stats, such as. In how many of these cases was the "bad guy" mitigated with no shots fired or less then a normal clip? Thus eliminating the need for the ridiculous amount of ammo some guns can hold. In how many cases was the gun the home owner used a shotgun, a hunting rifle or a normal handgun? Were hollow point bullets ever needed? |

http://www.komonews.com/news/local/T...182549741.html Once again the problem is that the "good guy wins" story happens at a greater then 100-1 ration so the news doesn't have enough content. |
I just heard over 30 people killed on the news :(
|
its 27 total, 20 of the children :(

yeah his mother is one of the teachers killed. don't cancel the world of warcraft account and dont turn off their cell phone. :uhoh |

This page doesn't even have all of them. |
Damn. That is beyond horrible. If you're going to go on a killing spree at least kill people who deserve it, such as war mongers, violent criminals, rapists, child molesters, the people at Cloud Flare, and so on.

Bet you it was one of these end of the world nut jobs..

They have never tried to take it away yet, therefore you obviously won't see militias fighting the government anywhere. The 2nd Amendment has to do with being able to protect a free state, and guess what? We are still a free state. It's ridiculous that you would even bring up militias fighting the government somewhere right now at this time when there is no tyranny. Guns are not the problem. Do you realize how many people own guns? How many of them shoot up schools? Like 0.000001% of them... you just see the media blast an isolated incident on the front page of everything and you freak out about guns like you're supposed to.... "Oh my god! I'm so scared of guns! They're gonna get us all!" lol, quit buying into the media's fear that they push on you... |
Hmmmm...another AR-15 shooting.
We'll never ban guns -- but we could probably stand to have a lot less of them floating around the country. Especially something like a Bushmaster assault rifle with a 25 round clip. |
Quote:
What is relevant is the psychology of the person controlling the gun... what went wrong there? No one wants to talk about that, they just want to talk about the inanimate objects: guns. It's like people think the guy was totally normal but then happened to see a gun one day and automatically got hypnotized by it's presence and was convinced he had to use it to go kill people. lol |
Quote:
If he used a bolt action rifle(or something with a smaller clip size) because it was almost impossible to casually own a military assault rifle, then maybe a lot less children would have been killed today. See what I'm saying? |

That is literally like a cancer treatment killing 99 people for every one it saves. That is logical to you? |
Quote:
The problem here is that he was fucked up in the head for some reason, not which type of gun he chose to use. Everyone just wants to stay focused on inanimate objects instead of the real problem, which is the psychology of these people who want to kill. Guns didn't make them that way. |

It only has to do with a last resort chance to protect our republic against tyranny, should it ever arise, it has nothing to do with hunting or sport or whatever else people think it's about. |

The current state of the United States most definitely is not tyranny. You ain't seen shit yet Johnny boy... |

But now I get it, your saying we need the assault rifles to fight the tanks, drones, missiles, bombs, ATFs, assault helicopters, aircraft carriers, and special forces of the Tyrannical U.S. government. Well of course, because we could win then. Everybody knows an AR-15 can sink a carrier and you just look silly with a shotgun. |

INSERT ANSWER HERE I am just trying to understand the weapons the tyrannical people you are fighting have have that you need assault weapons vs. more conventional personal fire arms. That the key to your revolution is a 30 round clip vs a 10. INSERT EXPLANATION HERE |
I feel so horrible for the victims and their families.
I also feel horrible for Ryan Lanza. He spent the first half of his day confused and telling people it wasn't him and then the second half of his day is him dealing with the fact it was his brother and that his parents are also dead. |

It looks like you have your mind made up on this subject so my "explanations" will be useless to you. |

using what you feel has his intellectual failing as an 'argumentative club' doesn't put you in such a good light either. :2 cents: |

And earlier in the thread you said "I am beating you know." Yea, real genius you are... |
What a nightmare, one that happens all too frequently in America.
And there is no solution, it's the price society pays for the culture it creates(Hollywood, video games etc), freedom of speech, freedom period and yes, the gun culture America was founded on and the 2nd Amendment. In a country of 330 million to identify and track these types of mentally disturbed people would mean a police state, guns will never go away and our celebration of violence in our entertainment won't go away - it sells. so 100 people a year including children get massacred a year as the price. |
