Anyone using the new UUGallery plugin?
 

Just installed it on one of my blogs. I've noticed all of the templates are gone. Does anyone know where these were previously and how to recover them?

I found them @ /galleries/data/templates.txt but when I overwrote /plugins/uugallery/data/templates.txt with the old one, it removed the uugallery import stuff at the top of the add new post page.

It won't let you insert the template? Not sure what import button you mean unless its something in the new release. I still have an old server license version of the script. I might have to contact chariot for the upgrade :thumbsup

Yeah, there's a new version. 4.0 Beta.

It's an actual plugin now. Doesn't overwrite wp-admin files.

I'm guessing he changed the templates up from a quick look at them and now it's not recognizing them. I messaged him on ICQ but it looks like he's offline and I'll be waiting to update my site. Figured maybe someone here had figured it out, but it's still new so I guess not.

Maybe he thinks it is not needed with the plugin? I have not used mine in a while, as a plugin might get me to look at it again. But will wait for threads talking about how good it is. :1orglaugh

Sure is. Just hoping there is a way to import my old post templates into the new version now.

Had some issues with the plugin on one of my domains(was being a test dummy also for Chariot), but had to put the old version back up so I could update again.

Hopefully the final release contains all of the features from before, minus the hacking core files aspect.

Can prior owners get the plugin?

Yeah. If you login to one of your sites using UUGallery, go to add a new post and you should see the "updates" section on the right side where it says "Your version: 3.37." You'll see a link to the new version in the recent updates. :thumbsup

Hey guys, thanks for checking the beta version. Yes it is proper plugin now. No need to overwrite wp-admin files. UUGallery 4.0 is a complete rebuild, I changed everything internally, so now uugallery can have several thumbs (different sizes!) of a single image, added lightbox viewer, autogenerated gallery views, now if there is an error, you don't lose your gallery setting like it happened before, etc, etc, including the new templates storage, which is now more flexible and can accommodate future changes much easier so I will be able to do the updates faster. So unfortunately old templates are not recognizable yet, but I already see the demand for using the old files so I will add old template reader after Dec 27th. Meanwhile, you can copy-paste individual templates from the post textarea, its format is the same.

To Trevestly, thanks for sending me the bugs, I just replied about fixed direct images drabber and fixed top/bottom banner. The other issue about small fullsized picture was not a bug as it had small dimensions set in the settings. Please, let me know if there is anything else left and I'll fix it too.

P.S. UUGallery4.0 is still in beta and everyone who wants to experiment - you are welcome to send me your bug reports, but if you like to use stable versions - please wait until production is released. Should be very soon.

Will do, 100%. I just need to finish the beta, which will approximately can take another week or so. I've done a lot of improvements, but I just want to fix a few small things left (including new demo galleries) and it will be ready.

The "UU" guys are solid. I enjoyed working with them while developing projects.

Drat. I missed seeing this and I don't seem to have a UUGallery anything in WP 3.9. Does this plug-in work with 3.9 if I have a license for the old core edit versions?

You're definitely right. Weird that the domain is not expired, but it is all jacked up.

I just picked up Cyber's new script http://www.cyberseo.net/gallery-magic/

His stuff is usually good, so hopefully this is an effective replacement.
