Watched a documentary on Siege of Leningrad
It feels like I've been kicked in the stomach - i know it's 70 years ago but it happened and many of the children of Leningrad are still alive to tell their stories. mankind at its worst.

which one was it ?

BBC doc - not sure what year it was made. And how did Stalin reward the brave leadership of the city of Leningrad - after the war he rounded them all up and executed them. because the 900 days Leningrad was cut off from the world including the Soviet Communist Party had changed their thinking, as horrific as conditions were during the siege it occurred to many of them that they were actually more 'free' under German siege than under Stalin.

Stalin was a psychopath given total power and he died in his sleep - one of the worst periods humanity has produced.
He took power a few decades after everyone decided to give the government control so that that it could do what was best for everyone. |
reading about Ukraine and force reallocation was very disturbing

I was born in Leningrad, the city has a lot of history, I have great memories of it. They used to give out medals in your birth certificates over there, I still have one: "Citizen USSR Boy Born in Leningrad 1983" with my name on it.
