There are rumours of them adding auto-play video ads to your timeline in April 2013.

I don't use facebook anymore, but if I did, this would be enough to make me quit.

I agree with you they are taking this to far. Next thing will be if you do not want to see ads pay 3.99$ a month :upsidedow

Myspace did all these kind of things and look where they ended up

the privacy issue bothers me more than a site plastered with ads.
Hence the reason why I never had a 'real' facebook account - only one for a site of mine.

People dumb enough to use that stalker website deserve all they get anyway...

slower loading higher bandwidth pages will kill facebook, it is already a very glitchy site which is a big part of what killed myspace way back when..... simple and fast is always better :2 cents:

I agree. I hate facebook. Joined at the nagging of a friend. Hate it intensely now. Wish I'd never signed up. Fuck facebook with a rusty screwdriver.

It's ripe for that kind of thing, though. Don't they have like a billion users now? Even if some quit as a result, that's a shit-ton of glazed eyeballs taking in the ads.

I play around a little with facebook at most and wouldn't care much one way or the other.

I doubt they will but even if they started putting up ads, WHO CARES!?!?!? you use the service for free and the put ads on there? You expect them to run a business on a $0 revenue model?

I can't stand some of these whinny fucks, and it's mostly kids and older, non-computer literate adults bitching about "they are going to make me pay for facebook" or "#OMG, they are going to put ads up!"

STFU and deal already. You don't see people bitching about ads on TV, yet you still pay for that!

It's the cycle of life. FB will die too, something better will come along one day.

I did years ago, just wondered if this is a tipping point.
