I bought my brother in law a tablet for xmas, all wrapped up and shit under the tree. He opens it - empty box. Even if I find the receipt no one is gonna believe me

Anyone know if you can do chargebacks on something you paid for with the Paxum Mastercard?

Didn't the box feel very light and suspicious when you were wrapping it or did you have it gift wrapped?

Did the box say "Tablet sold separately"?

:1orglaugh I've seen people on ebay selling the steelbook cases to things, for almost the same price as the thing that was meant to be inside the steelbook.

Like the DVD cases and Game steel cases, no movie/game just the steelbook :Oh crap

It DID feel light, but I've also felt lighter and heavier phones and cameras in my life so I didn't think much of it. It was light but not "empty light" if you know what I mean...the charger and stuff were still in there... I wrapped it myself, but didn't open it. Went literally from the store back to our office and wrapped it along with all the other presents. The bitch at the cash register even opened the box, removed the little plastic shit that sets off the store alarms too (albiet she was some 700 year old lady that took 15 minutes to check me out). It wasn't some expensive tablet anyways, some cheap 7" one but still fucking pissed. Pretty embarassing when you give someone an empty box to open.

I likely wouldn't know what weight to expect the box to be, either. Some tablets are heavier...some light.

But as you said...who's gonna believe at the store that it was missing from the box. Good luck with it. I'd deal directly with the store manager - skip the sales people.

i saw this on the news. :helpme they put the equal weight in the box and return it to the store.

returns don't go on shelves, they our opened at the counter, then usually returned to mfr.. Stores typically pay a 15% restocking fee to distributor and dump the crap

I had this happen to me with a box of allergy medicine.

Opened it a few days later and it was empty. :(

this is so fucking hurting...
The box weighs about as much as our 10" Asus tablet, so it wasn't abnormally light. Hopefully they had cameras on the cahs registers - the cashier opened the box and it woudl be on camera that it's empty.

you know what to do with that box, number one you cut a hole in that box, number two you put your junk in that box ........

not if the employee is in on it.

We just opened up a box for a $200 sewing lamp to find an invoice for 1 and 2 in the box.

This happens every few months when I buy from Amazon. Each time they've told us to keep the extra item.
