what's the difference between CVV2 number and Verified by Visa?
fuck, i can't find my credit card and i'm being asked for Verified by Visa which is some 3 number sequence on the back of the card. tried the CVV2 number, that didn't work.
how is this other number different than CVV2? |
CVV2 is usually the last 3 or 4 digits on the back of your credit card.
Verified by Visa is an additional security measure for Visa credit cards. Mastercard has a similar feature with SecureCode. It is a password you can add to your card for when you make online purchases. Contact your bank/card provider and they can help you retrieve it or set one up. :thumbsup |
CVV on back of your card, Verified By Visa pops up when you buy something before completing the transaction and asks for a password you set up on Visa.com
|
You would have set your own password for verified by Visa at some point, or you'll need to. I think this password has to be longer than 3 characters as well.

as i know cvv is number printed on back of your credit card and i always wondered what will happen if that number somehow is fucked on card and i did't remembered it... because it's add with tiny layer of some material.

VBV is an additional password you set up for making online purchases so just not anybody can use your card online, kind of sucks I have also forgotten the password but visa support is kind of easy
|
yes but Verified By Visa is asking me for a 3 number sequence found on the back of the card before I can get a VBV password - and that 3 number sequence isn't the CVV2 number.

If you got a single page asking credit card number, cvv2 and verified by visa password in a same form, that's phishing, i.e. a fake page used by hackers to steal your data. |
Maybe you are being carded... right now!
