Reporting child pornography on Twitter
I have been using Twitter for a while, and recently my timeline was filled with reactions to some Twitter accounts which were posting child pornography. Everyone was tweeting/retweeting/replying to said accounts asking their followers to report the accounts.
The problem is, when you tweet/retweet/reply you're linking to those accounts, sending them visitors. Which is why Twitter states explicitly in their guidelines NOT to tweet/retweet/reply to accounts guilty of that offence. It took me all of eight seconds to find out how to report child pornography on Twitter, another fifteen to gather the links and email the complaint. Meanwhile these well-meaning but ignorant individuals kept doing the one thing they weren't supposed to be doing, and NOT doing the ONE thing they should have. Out of my frustration I decided to write in plain language a guide on how to report cp to Twitter as well as to law enforcement agencies, and explaining the reasoning behind Twitter's policy. I have posted the information on a wordpress.com blog so that the information can be freely distributed without it being hosted on an adult site. I welcome constructive criticism and input on how to improve this guide. Thank you for taking the time to read it if you do. Quote:
